Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 81

Reagan’s POV

Ellie sat without speaking. The longer she remained quiet, the worse I felt about what I did. I’m not proud of how I marked her. But now no one else can claim her. As stupid as it sounds, I think I love her.

The silence gave me time to talk to Callan. The elaborate web of lies that Caspian and I had created. That’s what got Sam and Sasha kidnapped. How can two smart men have been so dumb to think they would get away with all of this? Ellie is perceptive and intelligent, so l stay quiet. Because if I open my mouth, it’s likely the wrong words will slip out. Sam and Ellfe will never forgive us once they find out we betrayed them. But that is a problem for when we get Sam and Sasha home. That is the goal. That’s what I need to focus on.

“We’re nearly at the Crescent Moon Pack,” I told Ellie after four hours of driving.

“She had better be here,” Ellie chuffed.

“I am willing to stake my life on the fact that Sam and Sasha are here.”

“How can you be so confident?” Ellie asked me.

I smiled. “Evelyn told Caspian that she would be the only person to become the Luna Queen. The woman in the gardens said that a woman who was wearing a white dress abused Sam before she was taken away. Evelyn was missing when Caspian went to her room. Sam was in the car that Evelyn was driving.”

“Fine, everything points to this Evelyn being involved. But how do you know she is here?” Ellie questioned again.

“Evelyn’s father is the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. If she were to go anywhere for protection. She would come here. She is predictable.

But Sunak’s ambition for more power would lead him to strike deals with anyone. That makes him dangerous.” I have suspected him of doing dodgy dealings for many years. But proving it is a different matter.

“Why would anyone want Sam, though? Especially when they keep referring to her as a rogue. I just can’t figure it out.”

I said nothing. But I knew exactly why Evelyn would have taken Sam, especially if she found out Sam was Caspian’s fated mate. Caspian would do anything to get Sam back. Including handing over the throne to him. That would make Sunak the most powerful person in the kingdom.

As we got closer to the Crescent Moon Pack, I slowed the car down to a stop. Ellie told me to close the car’s vents, as she needed a safe environment to bring Sam and Sasha to. “Where would they hold Sam if she were here?” Ellie asked.

Her simple question reminded me that she had never entered a pack in her life. “The packhouse. That is usually the most secure building in any pack. Just follow the main road. It will eventually lead you to a building that looks like a mansion,” I told her. To which she gave me a simple nod before climbing out of the car.

“Be safe,” she told me. Her comment made me happy and smile. She does care for me. “I need you to drive Sam and Sasha home,” she said before slamming the door closed. I then watched as she stripped out of her clothes, discarding them at the side of the road.

Callan was furious at the thought of anyone seeing Ellie naked when she shifted back to her human form. I had to remind him that, despite wearing our mark or what we may want, Ellie was not our mate.

After she shifted and disappeared out of sight, I drove on to the pack’s entrance. I couldn’t help but notice that it was heavily guarded.

As I pulled the car to a halt, I lowered the window and spoke to a guard named Terry. “I have come to see Sunak.”Terry looked at me and sneered. “Alpha Sunak is busy. Go away and come back when it’s daylight.”

Callan growled at Terry’s disrespect. But he is likely following orders.

I have come a long way, and I want to speak to Sunak. I will not be leaving until I have seen him.”

“Whatever,” Terry said, as his eyes glazed over.

After a few seconds, Terry told me that Alpha Sunak would come to the border and speak to me. “That wasn’t that hard, was it now?” | responded. As I waited, I couldn’t help but notice that the guards began to surround my car. I shared my concern with Callan, who advised getting out of the car. Allowing us to assess the situation properly.

I climbed out and leaned against the car. Looking and sniffing all around me. “Nine different scents,” I told Callan. Terry walked out of a small building next to the gate.

“Will Sunak be much longer? I have somewhere else to be before morning.” I asked him loudly. He walked over to me and held a gun up in front of my face. I stood there calmly. He must know that unless there is a silver bullet in that gun, it won’t kill me. I looked him in the eyes. “Sunak gave me instructions to stop you from entering this pack.

You’re lying. I know full well you know who she is. Now tell me, or I will make sure you suffer before your death,” Ellie threatened.

“Ellie?” I said, to inform her I was here.

“Reagan. Reagan, help me. This bitch is psycho.” Evelyn said while crying.”You brought this upon yourself, Evelyn. Now, where are Sam and Sasha?”

Evelyn screamed. “Reagan. You used to be the Alpha King. You have to protect me. You are duty-bound.” Ellie’s head snapped in my direction.

No doubt, instantly figuring everything out. She growled.

“No one can help you now.” She threatened as she raised the knife above her head. Evelyn screamed, and a loud scream came from, ” Sam,” Ellie said as she plunged the knife toward Evelyn, stabbing her in her stomach and removing it afterward. Her blood stained the dress as it oozed out of her body. No doubt she will heal quickly. But she will be there when Ellie returns. “Don’t go anywhere. I will deal with you once I find my sister.* Ellie sneered as she made her way toward a door at the back of the kitchen, glaring at me as she walked past.

As’she turned the doorknob, the door swung open, and I could hear a man laughing and a girl whimpering. Without hesitation, Ellie rushed down the stairs. Rushing after Ellie, I saw Sam bound to a chair, sobbing, and Sasha on the floor, screaming and in a fetal position.

Callan was furious at the sight before us. I rushed to help Sasha, as she was the one who seemed to be in the most pain.

“Who the fuck are

you?” I heard a man yell.

“Your worst nightmare,” was Ellie’s response. Oh fuck she is pissed.
