Back in Time to Fall for Him novel Chapter 23

Madison and Kaitlyn only noticed Johnny when they heard that.

The moment Madison met Johnny's lecherous gaze, her body went stiff.

She couldn't help but recall how that scumbag had pinned her down and humiliated her in her previous life.

He had said, "Look at you. How is the great Madison Quinn any different from a whore? Come on! Say you're a bitch! You're clearly asking for it, you slut! Raise your hips and call me master."

Johnny's devilish laughter and filthy insults echoed endlessly in Madison's head.

As though she were reliving a nightmare, the color drained completely from her once-rosy cheeks. Every part of her shook as fear gripped her core.

Noticing that something was off with her, Johnny assumed she was unwell and believed that was his chance to show his concern.

He quickly approached her, asking, "Babe, why do you look so pale? You're sweating a lot. Are you feeling sick?"

As he spoke, he reached out, trying to touch Madison's forehead.

But just before his hand could make contact with her skin, Madison instinctively slapped his hand away, her pupils shrinking sharply.

"Don't touch me!" she snapped, her eyes filled with hatred and disgust so intense it was nearly palpable.

Johnny froze, staring at Madison in disbelief. He clearly hadn't expected her to react that strongly. Even Kaitlyn jumped at Madison's sudden outburst.

She looked over in confusion. "Maddie, what's the matter?"

Madison's eyes were rimmed red as she glared at Kaitlyn, hatred blazing in their depths.

Kaitlyn had never seen Madison like this before. It was as if a vengeful spirit was staring at her. Shuddering, Kaitlyn took a step back in fear.

Seeing the fear on Kaitlyn's face, Madison gradually calmed down, realizing she had overreacted. It didn't take her long to find an excuse for her behavior.

"I'm fine. It's just that seeing Johnny reminded me of what happened that night. You know how I am—I can't stand filth. Just thinking about that night still makes me feel sick.

"If my parents hadn't bought that property, I would have gotten rid of it."

Both Kaitlyn and Johnny stiffened for a second at her words before their faces returned to normal.

Kaitlyn was the first to recover and began comforting Madison. "Don't be afraid, Maddie. It's all in the past now."

Then she turned to Johnny with a glare, her outrage perfectly in tune with Madison's. "Look what you did! You scared Maddie half to death. Well? Aren't you going to apologize?"

Johnny played along immediately, gazing at Madison with feigned sincerity and affection.
