Sienna had just laid into Madison with that passive-aggressive bite, but instead of firing back, Madison looked at her with a sad, guilty expression.
Sienna broke out in goosebumps. She scowled and snapped, "Madison, wipe that pathetic look off your face! Listen, I'm not Mr. Goodwin. Save that act for him!"
Madison was speechless. All the feelings she'd had for Sienna evaporated. Sienna was just as unlikeable as she'd been in Madison's last life.
Madison rolled her eyes and shot back, "I couldn't care less about you. And Sam's the one who signed off on me being here. Even if you don't like it, swallow it.
"Oh, and if my work at the company doesn't go smoothly, I'll come to you first. So don't mess with me, or I'll have Sam send you packing back to the Scotts."
Madison had said that on purpose.
In the previous life, Johnny wrung a large settlement out of the Scotts because Sienna had kidnapped Madison. In the end, the Scotts despised Sienna and pushed her into a marriage with a man 20 years her senior.
Sienna wasn't truly a bad person. Otherwise, she wouldn't have kidnapped Madison only to let her go in the end. She had just loved Sam too much.
But in this life, he could only be Madison's.
So, it would be better to rip the bandage off. By pushing Sienna to leave Sam, Madison was helping her get over the heartbreak and start a new life sooner.
Madison planned all of this quietly. Her expression gave nothing away.
Sienna was furious, but she didn't dare argue because of Madison's last words.
Sam didn't even bother to spare William's pride for Madison's sake. He definitely wasn't going to spare Sienna's, even if their families had been close for years, especially since she clung to him like a barnacle.
Watching Sienna simmer with anger yet hold her tongue, Madison decided she had pushed far enough. She didn't want to turn Sienna into an enemy.
