Sam gazed frostily at Sienna, who had been speechless for some time. "Ms. Scott, do you have any other questions?"
"N-No," Sienna replied reluctantly.
Just when she was about to sit down, Sam added, "In that case, you may leave. As for the work you've done so far, someone from the finance department will compensate you for it. You are no longer required to work on this project."
Sam would not let anyone who was against Madison stay on the project. If anything went wrong with the project, they would be the first to point fingers at her.
The others were taken aback by Sam's words, especially Sienna, who looked at Sam in utter disbelief.
"Mr. Goodwin!"
Sam ignored her.
Madison finally came to her senses. She glanced at Sienna, still in complete shock, before turning to the emotionless Sam.
She immediately said, "Sam, Ms. Scott may have sounded harsh, but she was just looking out for the company. I've done some unforgivable things to this company. It's only natural that she doesn't trust me. Please don't take it out on her, okay?"
Madison hadn't said all that because she was a saint. She had indeed done many terrible things to the company, and that was an irrefutable fact.
She could only gain the employees' trust and prove herself by working hard and showing results. Only then could she change how they view her.
If she became the reason Sam terrorized his employees, it would only make them despise her even more—and that wasn't even the worst part. If things got worse, the executives loyal to Sam might betray him in the end.
Madison didn't want any of these to happen. She still remembered that someone in hiding was still trying to take Sam's life! She was not going to let that person have a chance to attack him.
