Chapter 14
David halted mid–step as he approached the stage, instinctively glancing toward the door at the sound of its opening.
“You finally decided to show up. ”
His shoulders relaxed briefly before his brows furrowed sharply upon recognizing the newcomer.
It was Lisa’s lawyer.
The attorney strode toward David, lifting a document folder.
“Mr. Green, Miss Davis entrusted me to deliver these.”
His tone remained strictly professional as he extracted papers from the file.
“This certifies your marriage to Miss Helen in Andorra. This is the fake marriage certificate between you and my client. Henceforth, your cohabitation ends with no further contact.”
“Disputed assets have been settled. My client returned all your gifts- here’s the inventory,”
“This evidence proves Miss Helen poisoned my client, with attached toxin reports.”
“This documents my client’s miscarriage.”
“This confirms your men assaulted her, causing severe injuries. She’s ready to press criminal charges.”
The lawyer threw each document before David, watching his face pale. “Mr. Green,” he mocked, “if you and your wife cease harassing Lisa, she’ll drop all claims.”
“Additionally, she wishes you lasting happiness and many children.”
“The flash drive contains… enlightening videos. Enjoy them at leisure.”
Without another glance, the lawyer exited the banquet hall.
Guests gasped, David’s friends glaring at Helen with newfound disgust.
Their complicity in deceiving Lisa now felt like aiding a monster.
