Chapter 203
If only he was not arrogant and being a jerk, Rania would have been heavily pregnant like Claire as well. All of this was his fault.
He was the only one who should be blamed for this situation and he was the one, who had put his mate through such misery.
It wouldn’t be a problem now, but he knew for sure that it would be a bigger problem later on. This was a ticking bomb that was ready to explode. It was only a matter of time.
Maximus stared at his mate’s sleeping face. She looked very serene and beautiful, but he didn’t know how long he would be able to keep her peacefulness. If only he could do something for her… if only he knew how to fix what he had broken.
“I am sorry, love.” Maximus leaned over and captured her lips. “I will do everything for you, even if you will hate me for that. I will do whatever it is necessary to keep your peace.” Maximus deepened the kiss. Even if he had to burn his whole kingdom, he would do it without a second thought. He would do it for her.
Meanwhile, Rania was blissfully unaware of what her mate was thinking, she was sleeping soundly, as she felt his kiss, but she was too sleepy to return the kiss.
In her dream, once again, she saw the white wolf. The beautiful wolf was standing across the river, staring back at her. The creature was very beautiful and majestic, she wanted to run her fingers on its soft fur again.
However, when she tried to get closer, the white wolf moves away, and Rania couldn’t get across the river.
The next morning when she was awake, she had forgotten about her dream, as she learned Maximus’s plan to lure Killian out.
[Are you sure that’s the best option?] Rania asked warily. She looked at Maximus with caution. She doesn’t like Claire and when she came to her to ask for her help to help her mother, she had declined her extended arm.
For her, what’s done in the past had been done. She didn’t wish to look back. She didn’t wish any harm on Claire either and despite what Elena had done to her in the past, she didn’t wish her death.
But, she didn’t want to get involved with them. Moreover, Claire was pregnant right now, she didn’t want any harm befell upon her or her baby.
“Are you upset because I pardon your stepmother’s life?” Maximus approached his mate, he was sitting next to her and placed a comforting hand on her back. “Do you want her to be killed, I can get it done.”
Rania widened her eyes, she then wrote something; [But, you have promised Claire to pardon her mother’s life.]
“I did, but it doesn’t mean other people will do the same.]
In another word, Maximus could hold the end of his promise, while planning to kill Elena by ordering one of his men to kill her. It was an easy thing for Maximus to do so.
Or Elena could be ‘accidentally‘ killed during the skirmishes later on. No one would point their finger on him,
Rania shook her head, she felt sorry to make him worried about her, and Maximus could see that.
“Don’t make that look. You are perfect the way you are, but an illness has to be cured.” Maximus kissed her forehead and then stood up. “I will go back for dinner.” He then thought about that again. “I will try to come for dinner, but if I am too caught up with the matter, don’t wait for me, go to sleep, okay?”
Rania narrowed her eyes, she was not happy because Maximus treated her like a child.
“Do you want me to treat you like a woman?” Maximus smirked, as he pulled the collar of her dress and peeked to her breasts.
Rania immediately swatted his hand away, and glared at him, while he was laughing heartily.
“You are so cute when you are upset, I have to piss you off even more.” Maximus leaned over and bit her lip before he left the room, leaving Rania speechless.
For a long moment, Rania simply sat on the edge of her bed. Actually, there was one thing that she had been wanting to do, but she was not sure whether this was the right call.
But then, the visit was long overdue, and she needed to bite the bullet.
This would be an uncomfortable conversation, but she needed this for her peace of mind. Therefore, she went to the dungeon…
