Chapter 213
Karin was well aware that her words were harsh. She didn’t want to shatter Rania’s happiness, but she couldn’t just support her and watched how she destroyed herself and the king.
“Please, think about it again.” Karin was practically begging Rania to abort her pregnancy. Since this was very early, it wouldn’t affect her health that much.
It was cruel to basically asking an expecting mother to get rid of the baby that she had been waiting for, but Karin had no other choice, but to say it bluntly.
Rania’s response was as expected, she stood up and placed her arms over her stomach, she frowned at Karin, as if she was holding a knife to stab her.
“Rania, please…” Karin didn’t know what to say, she was thinking to let the king knew about this, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it, because the situation was rather tricky.
The king was going to the battlefield, and this matter would affect him greatly. While Karin was not a warrior, but she was smart enough to know that everything could happen in the war and a disturbed mind would cause a fatality.
However, she alone wouldn’t be able to convince Rania to give up.
Rania shook her head, she stared at Karin sternly. She pressed her lips together, as if she was holding herself
back.
“Rania, please, you need to understand this.”
Rania then grabbed her notes, she wrote something down furiously and then showed it to Karin. [You said it yourself that I will be fine, that I will be able to give birth if I take care of myself and drink your tonic regularly. I have done all of that. You said that I am in a good health!]
Karin felt so bad, she pressed her lips together, as she begged for forgiveness. “I am sorry. I am really sorry. I shouldn’t have let your hope up, but I couldn’t bring myself to discourage you.”
Karin believed that Rania wouldn’t get pregnant this easily, she thought, Rania might not be able to get pregnant again, and she was holding onto that.
However, she was so wrong…
Rania was hurt when she heard that.
“I am sorry, I don’t think this is possible given to your current condition…” Karin wanted to cry. She knew that she had done more harm than good towards Rania.
[So, you actually believe that I will never get pregnant again? That’s what you thought? That’s why you said all of those things?]
Rania’s hands were trembling when she showed the notes.
“I am sorry.”

Karin didn’t admit it, but her profound apology only sealed the answer that Rania was looking for. Karin was indeed didn’t think she would be able to carry a baby again in this lifetime.
“I know, I am very wrong to do this to you, but I have no bad intention. I…”
Rania turned around and then left, she didn’t want to hear what Karin was going to say again, but before she walked out of the room, she wrote something down quickly and ripped the paper to hand it over to Karin.
The healer watched the paper in her hand and then read the contain.
[I am going to keep the baby. I will do everything to make sure me and the baby will be fine. I don’t want you to tell the king until he returns from the battle. Not a word. I don’t want him to know in this way. I will be the one, who told him about the news.]
And that was it. Karin had to keep this a secret.
If something happened to Rania during this pregnancy, and the king found out about it; Karin wouldn’t be surprised if she lost her life.
Meanwhile, Rania quickly towards the car that had been waiting for her. She held back her tears because she didn’t want these warriors that came with her see her crying her heart out.
But, Ares could sense there was something wrong. “Is everything alright, my queen?” he asked, his voice full of concern.
Rania nodded and then entered the car, but she told the warrior to drive slowly because she felt unwell.
It was unfortunate that Lucian couldn’t come, since the last attack had left him bedridden, but Ares was there, and Rania didn’t feel so alone.
Since Ares’s presence brought familiarity to her.
Cam was sitting behind the wheel. He was a warrior, who was driving the car and occasionally, he would take a glance at Rania through the rearview mirror, because he could sense her sorrow.
However, Lucian would nudge him back to stay focus on the road ahead.
He was a young warrior, the newly appointed warrior and this was his first important mission, so he wanted to be perfect.
But, they didn’t need a perfection at this moment, Rania needed things to be calm and quiet, because there were a lot of things that was going on in her head.
Her mind was too loud and she didn’t like it. She wanted to tune out her thought, but her anxiety kept haunting her down, especially when she had confirmed that she had a little life inside of her.
Jasmine stared at the night sky, she hugged herself, as she hid from the other people and sat alone at the deck. The wind blew her hair, and she felt rather sleepy, but she didn’t want to go back to her bedroom.
