Rania was walking around the house with Ares followed behind her, but he kept his distance, since the queen wanted to be alone.
They just had their dinner together, and like before, it was Cam, who made the situation was way livelier with his chatter and now Rania wanted to take a walk before she went to sleep, because her stomach was too full
“My queen, don’t enter the forest, it’s dangerous.” Ares reminded Rania when she was about to go towards the direction of the forest.
‘Why?‘
“It’s…” Ares was a little bit nervous to tell her this. “The wild wolves live there.”
Rania raised her brows in interest. It had been a while since the last time she saw the wild wolves, and Ares could see the excitement in her eyes.
“I know that you often fed the wild wolves, but I don’t want to take a chance with your safety, please understand. This is for your own safety.”
Rania wanted to retort, but then she didn’t want to make things difficult for Ares. More so, Rania didn’t know whether this place was close to the wild wolf pack or not, she could encounter another wild animal inside the forest and the last thing she wanted was to put herself in danger.
And with that, she moved away from the forest direction, but something caught her attention. She heard it first, because she was closer.
Trom behind the bushes, she heard a sound.
een?” Ares saw Rania was interested in something and when he came closer, he heard it too. “I will ches what it is. Please, stay here.”
Ares then followed the direction of the sound, and found a pup of wolf behind the bushes. It had blood on its hindleg.
“This is…”
Rania saw it and then came closer to him. She took the pup in her palm, which the pup was struggling against her and Ares, afraid that they would hurt it.
Gently, Rania patted its head and tickled the stomach. She saw the wound on its hindleg too.
‘I will take it with me.’
“But…” Ares was not sure that was a good idea, because he was afraid the pack of wolves would come to this house, since they took their pup away. “I think it will be better to leave it here…”
However, Rania gave him a look, as if saying how heartless he was, which shut him up.

Chapter 217
The pup still made a distressed sound, but when Rania cradled it in her arms, like she did a baby, the little creature calmed down enough and snuggled against her.
“I still don’t think this is a good idea,” Ares murmured, but like how it was done, he had no way to go against the queen.
Inside the house, Rania tended to the wound on its hindleg and prepare a warm milk for it.
“How cute,” Cam said, as he came over. He was fascinated by the wild wolf’s pup. “I heard about the wild wolves that the king always tends to, but because the forest area is a strict area, I can’t come closer.”
“Why do you want to come closer? Do you want to be fed to the wolf?” Deryl chimed in. He caressed the pup’s head gently.
It still amazed Rania on how gentle Daryl was despite his bulky figure. He is a giant with a kitten heart.
An hour later, the pup’s wound was already well bandaged, and currently, it purred on Rania’s lap, feeling sleepy after polishing a bowl of milk.
Meanwhile, the rain started pouring down the earth, the sky grew darker, as the night felt a little bit scary.
Therefore, Rania didn’t want to go back to her bedroom, and chose to stay with her three warriors, as they played a board game.
But, in the distance they heard the distress howling sound.
The wild wolves and the shifter came from the same spirit, but of course they were different entity, which meant they could understand each other into a certain level.
In the case, they could tell the pack of wolf was in distress.
ink they come to pick this little creature right here,” Cam said, he looked at the wolf indulgently, and pacted the pup on Rania’s lap.
Rania then stood up with the sleeping pup in her arms. She liked the pup and wanted it to stay, but a wolf was not a pet. More so, it would be better to give it back to its family.
“My queen, let me take it out.” Ares was still in distress because of the
pup.
But, Rania refused it. She wanted to go to see the pack of wild wolves again. She wondered if this would be the same pack.
And when she was outside, the pup in her arm woke up. Its ears perked up to hear the howling in the distance.
Rania then set the little creature down. Right now, the rain was not as hard as before. Tiny droplets trickled down from the sky, yet Rania couldn’t care less when her dress got wet.
From the bushes, she saw the alpha of the wild wolf.
It was the same alpha. The same pack that Maximus had tended all this time.
Somehow, the sight of the wolf made her happy. She missed Maximus, so whatever that tied down to him would bring smile to her face.
You have young pup in your pack again?‘ She mouthed the question, even though she wouldn’t get the
answer.
The pup then walked towards the alpha and rubbed its muzzle against the bigger wolf’s front leg, while the latter sniffed on it, especially the bandaged hindlegs.
For a moment, they stayed like that before they turned around and left.
But, the alpha turned to look at Rania for the last time before he disappeared into the night.
Rania felt sad…

“We are here,” Killian said, as he woke Jasmine up. “Get your jacket and we will go up.”
Jasmine opened her eyes groggily, she looked at her surroundings, and realized she was in the boat to the Barlukan Kingdom.
Just now, she was having a dream about her mother and father, a happy moment when she was little. She missed that feeling of safety and peace.
And now when she woke up, she had to face the reality. There was no such thing as peace and safety here, as they had to survive to live.
Killian waited for Jasmine and when she was ready, both of them went up to the deck.
s the first time for Jasmine to be in the Barlukan Kingdom, and her first impression was… not good.
This kingdom was barren. The people looked poor as they wore a bad quality of clothes. But then, she thought it only happened in the harbor.
She couldn’t judge a kingdom based on one spot of their territory.
However, when they got down from the boat, the smell hit Jasmine, and she almost gagged, because of how bad it was.
She felt like she was smelling a rotten food and this smell came from these people, who approached them.
Jasmine looked around, and she saw all the warriors looked uncomfortable. They smelled the same thing. It was only Killian and Gerald, who didn’t seem bother with it.
The royal beta Gerald immediately approached the warriors at the border, as they nodded their head to show their respect. They recognized him, which was a good thing, but Jasmine couldn’t help, but felt a bad feeling about all of this.
Her skin crawl, and she wanted to go back to the boat. Returned to the Aspen Kingdom. Even if she had to die, at the very least, she would die in her own land, not in this faraway soil.
“Killian, there is still time to get out from here,” Jasmine said in a low voice, as she tugged Killian’s arm. “I don’t think this is a good idea.”
Jasmine was scared, those shifters stared at her greedily, as if they were going to cat her alive.
“And then what? What are you going to do if you go back?” Killian asked her in the matter of fact tone, and Jasmine didn’t have the answer for that.
“What are they talking about?” Jasmine frowned, because they talked in secret, as they kept glancing towards the direction of Jasmine and the other warriors from her pack.
“Something is off,” Alpha Winter said. He could feel it. “Why it takes them so long to talk?”
They were still at the beach, waiting to be given permission to enter the Barlukan’s soil, but Gerald had been talking with the border warriors for ten minutes now.
“It shouldn’t have taken this long.”
And ten minutes later, Gerald came with a smile. A sweet smile that made Jasmine’s skin crawl.
“You may enter the Barlukan’s territory, but with one condition.”
“What is it?”
“Put on the silver bracelet.”
