It was not easy to find Gerald among this chaotic situation, especially when he tried to runaway. He was not stupid. He knew that if he stayed, he wouldn’t survive.

This pack wouldn’t be able to withstand the attack from king Maximus’s warriors.

“Where are you going?” Killian immediately grabbed him by the neck and slammed him to the ground. He punched him once and strangled him.

He did it to prevent him from shifting into his beast. No matter how strong Killian was; he wouldn’t be able to win against

Gerald if he shifted.

Therefore, he strangled him, not hard enough to kill him, but not too loose so the Royal Beta wouldn’t be able to do anything

“Wh- what are you doing?!” Gerald gasped for air, he was trying to push Killian off his body, but to no avail. He was not a fighter to begin with.

“Where is the key?” Killian asked sternly. “Give me the key,” he said forcefully, as he rummaged Gerald’s pocket, but he couldn’t find anything.

“Get off me! You will get all of us killed if we don’t run away!” Gerald used all of his strength, trying to shift into his beast, but he couldn’t.

Killian had pressed him to the point Gerald almost lost his consciousness.

“Where. Is. The. Key!” Killian enunciated every word clearly, he was filled with murderous intention, while the commotion out there had gotten louder. It seemed the warriors from the Aspen Kingdom had gotten closer.

“Get away from me… first… I can’t… breathe…” Gerald’s face had turned very red, as he gasped for air.

“Tell me where is it?” Killian wouldn’t be stupid enough to let go of Gerald. This cunning man would save himself for sure. He didn’t even care about Jasmine, who was pregnant with his child.

“Back… pocket, back… pocket…” Gerald said the words with so much difficulty.

This time, Jasmine came forward and then checked his back pocket, she found a bunch of keys, and she tried to open Killian’s silver bracelet with it.

There were fifteen of them, so it took time to get the right one.

And finally, Jasmine got it on her seventh attempt. The bracelet was taken off, and Killian could feel his beast roared within him. It felt suffocating to be restrained that way.

For a shifter, being in silver for long could make them aggressive and insane, since their soul was being restrained without their consent.

Killian then grabbed the silver bracelet and clasped it on Gerald’s wrist before he let him go.

“No! No!” Gerald widened his eyes in shock, as he felt the extreme discomfort from being separated from his wolf spirit. “Ah! What you have done!? Give me the key, quick!”

Killian then stood up and then got the keys from Jasmine’s hands. “Here what we are going to do; we will go back to find all of my pack member and you will lead us to the safety place!”

“Fine! I will do it!” Horror in Gerald’s eyes when the thought he couldn’t shift into his beast amidst this chaotic situation finally sunk in. He wouldn’t be able to survive this and that was without doubt. “Give me the key! I am going to die!”

“No, move now!” Killian felt good to snap at him. He had been very obedient lately with him just because he held the upper

hand.

“I will not move anywhere without the key!”

If Gerald thought such threat could make Killian relent, then he was very mistaken. “Fine, if you don’t want to leave, then stay here.”

Killian grabbed Jasmine’s hand and then walked away.

Seeing that, Gerald grunted. He had no other choice, but to follow Killian and Jasmine back to the safety place, where all of the warriors from Bloody Wolf pack were there, so did alpha Winter.

“We need to leave now,” Jasmine said to Kyle, as she took off the silver bracelet from his wrist.

“I don’t want to follow him,” Kyle said with hostility, as he jutted his chin at Gerald. His hatred ran so deep.

“He knows a safe place. Don’t talk too much! Let’s go!” Jasmine urged them to leave and then all of them left the safety place.

They shifted into their beast, and followed Gerald’s, since Killian had freed him from the silver.

They went deep into the forest. Uphill, they could see the damage that had been done by the Aspen’s warriors. They grimaced when fire burned most part of the pack house, cutting off their access to escape.

However, they didn’t have time to stay for long, because this was still not safe for them. They had to leave as far away as possible.

With that, they continued climbing the hill, only to find out that they had been surrounded by the enemies.

And the battle was unavoidable.

Claws against claws. Fangs against fang, as they tried to kill each other. There were so many beasts died, and people, who lost their lives and souls.

Jasmine looked around him, as she was being protected by Killian and Kyle. Because of her pregnancy, she couldn’t shift into her beast.

It would harm the baby if she did so, but at this point, why would she want to keep the baby? She didn’t want it in the first place.

Therefore, when she saw a beast sneaked behind Killian’s back, as he fought the other beast in his wolf form too, Jasmine shifted into her own wolf without a second thought, and fought the one warrior, who tried to kill Killian.

Jasmine gasped deeply when the pain from her stomach knocked the wind out of her lungs, but she managed to prevent the wolf from killing Kilian.

However, the thing that she didn’t expect was; the warrior from Aspen was a battle hardened men, they knew how to get on their feet quickly and countered, not like Jasmine.

And before Jasmine realized it, the warrior’s claw had pierced her chest.
