Chapter 227
The pain and the wounds from the enemy forced Jasmine to shift back to her human form, she gasped for air, as she clutched her chest. Blood was pouring out from the open wound.
“Kill… Killian…” Jasmine stretched out her hand when she saw Killian was fighting the same beast that had wounded her.
“Killian…”
Jasmine felt the pain like she had never felt before, especially from her stomach. She could feel the warm blood between her legs, and tears started streaming down her face.
She wouldn’t die, her healing ability would help her, she only needed to wait for a bit longer, but in this critical situation, time was the essence and if you couldn’t run, then it would be the end of you.
“No! No! No!” Gerald saw the blood between Jasmine’s legs and he was very furious. It only indicated one thing; the baby is
gone.
Jasmine had not yet further long and this was a critical moment for her to keep the baby safe. Shifting into your beast was
not it.
All the female shifter knew that they shouldn’t shift into their beast during the pregnancy, unless you would want to kill the baby.
“What do you think you have done?! Are you crazy?! You did it on purpose!” Gerald couldn’t care less about Jasmine’s condition, all he could think of now was his baby.
The baby could be a son!
Jasmine smirked despite the pain when she realized what made Gerald so furious with her. Good. Great! She could help her mate and get rid of the baby at the same time. She had no regret at all.
Even more when she saw the look on Gerald’s face. It was so therapeutic to see the desperation on his eyes.
The way he cursed at her was like a music to her ears.
“You stupid woman!” Gerald was furious, but suddenly he was shoved aside by Kilian’s beast, as he approached her.
Killian shifted back into his human form when he was close enough to Jasmine and cradle her in his arms.
“Are you, okay? Can you walk?” Killian asked, he hastily checked on Jasmine’s condition. It didn’t look good. She would live, if only the situation was not like this.
“I- I don’t think so…” Jasmine said, she clutched to the front of Kilian’s shirt. “Don’t… Don’t leave me…”
Killian looked around. The forest was getting dark and the enemy was getting closer. “I will not.”
However, when Killian was about to carry Jasmine, two Aspen’s warriors charged towards him, and he didn’t have time to shift into his beast, neither he could dodge the attack.
And at that crucial moment, Killian shoved Jasmine towards the beast that came after him. Their claws embedded deeply into Jasmine’s throat, while the other beast came at Killian at the same time.
Out of instinct to survive, Killian used this momentum to kill the other beast that clawed Jasmine. Their front leg stuck on Jasmine’s chest.
Meanwhile, Killian pierced through Jasmine’s heart to get to the wolf. This movement was unexpected and he managed to
kill the first wolf.
However, such movement also ensure the death of Jasmine. There was no way she would survive this. Her eyes widened when she realized what Killian had done to her.
Her mouth was slightly ajar when she saw the look on Killian’s face. He showed no emotions whatsoever.
And then, Killian shoved Jasmine away before he shifted into his beast and then fought the second beast.
Jasmine’s last sight was the dark sky, where she was laying on the cold ground, on her own blood. It felt warm, but then her body started shuddering because she lost so much blood.
And before Jasmine could lost her consciousness completely and let the darkness claimed her, she watched as Killian moved away from her. The beast glanced for the final moment before he moved further and further away.
So, that was it…
Killian would abandon her just like this… he couldn’t even care less about burying her.
Why would he when he was the reason why she lost her life…
This life…
If Jasmine could turn back time, she wouldn’t want to know Killian at all, and stirred clear from him. He brought nothing, but pain, and even so, he didn’t even love her when she gave him everything that she could.
“Someone is out there?” Karin asked Ares in a low voice, as she peeked from the window. “Are you sure it’s only one person?”
“No. There are a few people out there. I can sense it.” Ares narrowed his eyes. There was fog every night, so it would be hard for him to see through it.
Meanwhile, the wild wolves out there kept howling the whole night, as if to warn them that there were a few intruders that would come to ambush them.
“I will check outside,” Cam said, he was about to leave, but Ares stopped him. “No. You stay.”
“But, we need…” Cam didn’t finish his words when Deryl elbowed him to stop him.
“I know you have a good intention, but above all, you need to listen to the command and your order is for you to stay, understood?” Deryl said sternly, which made the young warrior lowered his head, embarrassed.
“Understood.” He knew his mistake.
On the other hand, Rania was sitting on the sofa. She hugged herself tightly. She didn’t know what was out there, but she could feel the tension in the room. There was danger that surrounded them.
“Don’t we need to contact the palace to ask more warriors to help?” Rania suggested. “The fact that there was the enemy out there, it meant this hiding place is no longer hidden anymore. There is no point of keeping it as a secret.”
Karin agreed with her. “Rania has a good point.”
But, before the discussion could ensue, Ares and the other two could sense it, “They are coming.”
