Marlon found himself cornered at the edge of the cliff, glancing around with a smirk. He grabbed Athena and held her in front of him like a human shield. The sunlight glinted off the sniper scopes positioned around them.
"So, are you happy now? I guess I'm really going to die today," Marlon sneered.
Athena stood there, calm and composed, despite being held hostage by him. The cliff was high, shrouded in mist below. The whirring sound of helicopters echoed in the distance, but the snipers held their fire, wary of Marlon's unpredictable nature and the risk to Athena. On the other side were dozens of cops, trying to contain the situation.
A voice called out from the crowd, "Marlon, give yourself up. Don't drag innocent people into this."
Marlon chuckled, pressing his gun against Athena's temple. "Innocent? Oh, she's far from that."
Athena remained unafraid, her gaze fixed ahead where she spotted Tyler, limping towards them. She couldn't make out his expression clearly due to the distance, but it was evident he was in pain.
Upon seeing Tyler, Marlon raised an eyebrow. "Well, isn't this a full house? Athena, aren't you gonna say hi to your husband?"
Athena frowned, not understanding his taunt.
Marlon planted a mocking kiss on her cheek and glanced at Tyler. "Gotta thank your wife for keeping me entertained all this time."
Everyone present understood the implication. Tyler's expression shifted briefly but then settled into a calm facade. Marlon was like a rabid dog, biting anyone he could. His jealousy of Tyler and Athena's relationship was palpable.
Tyler coughed, addressing Athena, "Are you okay?"
Athena wanted to nod but feared provoking Marlon into saying something worse, so she pretended not to hear. However, Marlon wasn't done yet. "Your husband asked you a question. Tell him, were you happy spending time with me?"
Athena's face turned cold. "Have you lost it? Is this your way of admitting defeat because you know you can't escape?"
Marlon fell silent, hesitating before asking, "You care about him, don't you? Afraid he'll be mocked?"
This exchange was between them alone, words gritted through his teeth as if searching her face for a reaction.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
