**Raindrops Kissing Silent Streets – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 29**
It was no surprise that Renee had spotted Jasper aboard the Starlight Odyssey during her last cruise experience. As it turned out, the luxurious ship was indeed owned by him.
The revelation hit her like a bolt from the blue, leaving her momentarily speechless. She stood there, grappling with the implications of this unexpected twist.
Wait a minute. That night when her stomach had been in turmoil, and someone had hurried her to the hospital… Could it have been him who came to her aid?
How could all these coincidences possibly align?
Jasper appeared before her clad in a snug-fitting white athletic ensemble, a baseball cap perched jauntily on his head. This casual attire seemed to soften the typically distant air he carried, making him appear youthful and brimming with vitality.
With one hand casually tucked into his pocket and the other gripping a golf club, he turned his head slightly at the sight of Renee. His sharp, penetrating gaze flicked toward Luke, a fleeting expression of warning and discontent crossing his face.
That singular glance was enough to send a chill down Luke’s spine, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.
“Haha! Well, if it isn’t the lovely Renee! What a delightful coincidence! Are you here to play a round of golf as well?”
The voice belonged to Chris Jackson, the formidable head of Cloudron Group. Renee had crossed paths with him a few times back when she was still employed at Ascend Group.
He was a stocky, tanned man in his mid-forties, his receding hairline doing little to enhance his looks. Known in the business realm for his notorious flirtations, he wasn’t exactly a heartthrob. Yet, his sharp intellect and the thriving status of Cloudron Group made him a figure of respect, someone whose ire could be detrimental to anyone who dared to offend him.
Renee managed to muster a polite smile, though it felt somewhat strained. “Yes, indeed. I was supposed to meet a friend, but she got caught up with something. She mentioned she’d arrive a little later.”
What friend?
It was a flimsy pretense.
In truth, she had rushed over here solely because she had learned Jasper was at the Northville Golf Club. There hadn’t been time to coax anyone else into joining her as a cover.
Besides, this was primarily a strategic move on her part.
With a quick glance toward Jasper, she decided to take the initiative. “Mr. Zeller, what a surprising coincidence to see you here again.”
