Dumped Omega? Now Their Alpha King Begs at My Feet novel Chapter 35

Valerie's POV

I was still trying to find my place in the sprawling Silver Crown estate. After a lifetime in a basement closet, the sheer scale of the compound was disorienting. I felt more like an honored guest than a daughter.

I avoided the main family areas, where Evelyn and Isabella were constantly trying to pull me into conversations about dresses and social events. It was a language I didn't speak, a world I didn't belong to. Isabella was a master at it, gliding through the rooms with an effortless grace that only highlighted my own awkwardness.

Instead, I found myself exploring the quieter, more remote wings of the compound, the places where the history of the house was still alive.

In a small, forgotten study in the west wing, a room filled with dusty maps and astronomical charts, I found a loose panel behind a heavy bookcase.

Curious, I pulled it open. It revealed a small, hidden library, clearly untouched for generations. The air was thick with the scent of dust and ancient, dry paper.

It was filled with old, handwritten texts, the ink faded on the yellowed pages. This was the secret history of the Sterling True-Bloods. These were not the polished histories in the main library; these were journals, spellbooks, personal accounts.

I found one book bound in worn, dark leather, its cover bare of any title. It detailed the lost arts of my bloodline.
