Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 219

**Even the Night Couldn’t Silence Her Light**

Henry stood frozen, a whirlwind of thoughts swirling in his mind. He had always known that Hubert was the sole heir of Jasper, the family’s golden boy destined to carry the legacy forward. To manipulate Hubert was to seize control over the future itself. The allure of such power was intoxicating, and he found himself teetering on the edge of temptation.

Bianca, sensing her father’s hesitation, leaned in closer, her voice dripping with urgency. “Dad, you have to understand! As long as Hubert is on my side, how can the Jackson family possibly overlook me? This is our only shot.” Her eyes sparkled with a mix of desperation and determination.

While Henry grappled with the weight of their situation, Lauren, ever the devoted mother, had already made up her mind. “Then let’s move quickly. List the house, and we’ll funnel most of the proceeds to Bianca.” Her voice was resolute, yet a hint of worry lingered in her tone.

Henry’s heart sank. This house represented the last thread connecting them to their family’s legacy. If they sold it, what would become of them? Where would they find solace?

Bianca, sensing the shift in the atmosphere, ceased her pleading and instead delivered a stark ultimatum. “Fine, if that’s how it’s going to be. We can continue living in this half-life forever. The Jackson family won’t annihilate us, but they certainly won’t allow us to flourish. My relationship with Hubert ends here. We’ll part ways.”

Henry felt a surge of frustration at the thought of their stagnant existence. “Sell it!” he spat out, his voice laced with urgency. “List it immediately!”

A flicker of relief crossed Bianca’s face, and she was about to offer words of comfort when Xavier, who had been quietly munching on his meal, suddenly broke the silence.

“It’s not the Jackson family’s fault we’re in this predicament. It’s ours.” His tone was calm, yet it carried an undercurrent of accusation that made the room feel charged.

All three turned to him, their expressions a mix of surprise and disbelief.

Bianca stiffened, her brow furrowing. “How can you say that?”

A self-deprecating smile ghosted across Xavier’s face, revealing the pain beneath his calm exterior. “Dad, Mom, if you sell the house, you’ll be left with nothing. The Jackson family won’t show us mercy. More specifically, they won’t forgive Bianca.”

“Xavier!” Lauren’s voice was sharp, a warning laced with maternal instinct.

“You should have anticipated this after the way you treated Tatiana all those years ago.” His words hung in the air, heavy and accusatory.

Xavier understood the depths of the truth. He knew how profoundly Tatiana had loved Jasper, how she had sacrificed everything, even walking away from her own life to find him. The gratitude Jasper owed was to Tatiana, not to Bianca, who had taken credit and tarnished her name. Bianca was misguided, cruelly so. And Xavier realized he was equally at fault for not standing by Tatiana. The chaos that surrounded them now was of their own making.

Bianca’s cheeks flushed with anger before turning pale. “What exactly are you implying?”

Lauren shot a disapproving look at Xavier. “Don’t speak like that, Xavier.”

With a calm resolve, Xavier set down his plate, slipped on his coat, and prepared to leave the room, the tension thickening around him.

Henry could no longer contain his frustration. “Hold it right there!” he barked. “What kind of attitude is that? Who are you trying to impress? If you had dedicated even half the effort to your studies at the hospital, we wouldn’t be drowning in this mess! You insisted on pursuing medicine, and yet here you are, still as useless as ever!”

A strange, bitter smile twisted Xavier’s lips. “Yes, you’re absolutely right. I’m utterly useless. After years of studying medicine, I didn’t even realize Tatiana was suffering from cancer and had the audacity to accuse her of faking it.”

His words fell like a lead weight, casting a dark shadow over the table.

Lauren murmured, “Well… she didn’t say anything to us.”
