**Even the Night Couldn’t Silence Her Light**
**Hubert’s Plea**
In a flurry of panic, the Lowells surged forward, desperation etched on their faces as they attempted to intervene. Shock rippled through the room, and even Xavier, after a brief moment of uncertainty, found himself swept into the fray. However, their efforts were futile against the imposing bodyguards, who held Bianca firmly in their grasp, ready to drag her away against her will.
“Daddy?”
A small, quavering voice sliced through the tumult, its innocence stark against the backdrop of chaos.
Jasper turned sharply, his heart sinking at the sight of young Hubert, who stood paralyzed in the doorway, wide-eyed and trembling. The terror on his little face was palpable as he witnessed his father’s ruthless attempt to take his mother away from him.
Jasper’s voice dripped with ice. “Who let you come here?” he demanded, his tone sharp enough to cut through the air.
Bianca’s eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope as she spotted her son. “Hubert! Hubert, save me!” she cried out, her voice a mixture of desperation and longing.
Jasper’s expression darkened further, an ominous shadow crossing his features. “Who brought you here?” His voice was chilling, a stark warning that sent a shiver down the little boy’s spine.
Hubert flinched at his father’s harsh tone, his tiny fists clenching tightly at his sides, his face paling as fear washed over him.
Taking a deep, steadying breath, Jasper commanded, “Take him back.”
“I won’t go!” Hubert’s voice quivered with emotion, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. He defiantly tilted his small face upward, a picture of determination despite his fear. “Daddy, please let Mommy go? Don’t take her away.”
Bianca’s heart ached at her son’s plea. She immediately joined the chorus of desperation, wailing, “Hubert, save me! I don’t want to leave you!” Her voice echoed with the rawness of a mother’s love, intertwining with her son’s cries.
Overcoming his fear, Hubert dashed forward, grasping his father’s hand and shaking it fervently. “Daddy, don’t take Mommy away. I just got to see her. Don’t separate us, Daddy…”
Jasper shook him off roughly, his frustration boiling over.
The little boy stumbled backward, falling to the floor, tears brimming in his eyes, looking utterly heartbroken. A pang of regret pierced through Jasper’s steely demeanor, but he quickly buried it.
“Take him away,” he ordered, his voice devoid of warmth.
The bodyguards advanced, their expressions caught between duty and discomfort.
But Hubert, ever the obedient child, broke down into tears. “I won’t go! Daddy, I won’t go! Don’t take Mommy away! Sob… Don’t!” His sobs were heart-wrenching, echoing in the room like a mournful song.
The bodyguards hesitated, glancing at Jasper, who wore a mask of cold fury, his head pounding with the weight of the situation. “Stop crying,” he commanded, his voice a low growl.
“No! Don’t take Mommy! Don’t! Sob… They all have mommies, I want my mommy too! Sob…”
