Tatiana’s good mood instantly lifted. “No flowers from now on. Never again.”
“Ah, did he give up?”
“Mhm.”
“What a shame. Men change their minds so fast!”
“Tell me about it.” Tatiana’s mood improved even more, and she handled her work much faster.
But happiness is often fleeting—
“Tati, there’s a problem.” Anna looked grim.
“What?”
“Will’s been arrested.”
The cup slipped from Tatiana’s hand.
Ten minutes later. At the police station.
Tatiana and Anna rushed in and saw Will sitting on a chair, bruised, battered, and waiting for bail. Technically, this wasn’t their problem. However, the new song was releasing the day after tomorrow. If Will, the lead singer, got into trouble and was blacklisted, the song couldn’t be released.
Anna couldn’t sit still and dragged Tati along.
Will looked up when he saw them, a hint of apology in his eyes. “Did I cause you trouble again? I’m sorry.”
Anna suppressed her anger. “Didn’t I tell you to keep a low profile these few days? The song is about to release! You signed the debut contract! Can’t
you read?”
Tatiana gently patted Anna. “Don’t be angry. Let’s find out what happened first and bail him
out.”
They thought they could just pay bail, but they were told the situation was serious. The victim was insisting on pressing charges and refused any settlement.
Upon asking, they learned what had happened. The bar owner had ‘sold‘ Will, setting him up to

sleep with a bisexual tycoon. Will refused, fought back, seriously injured the man, and escaped. He was then caught by the tycoon’s bodyguards, beaten up, and finally saved when a passerby called the police.
The problem was, the tycoon was severely injured–down there–and was still hospitalized. He was rich, didn’t want compensation, only wanted Will jailed. If convicted of assault, he’d face five to eight years, and his time inside wouldn’t be pleasant. Their song would be shelved.
Anna was both angry and sympathetic. “How could you be so stupid! He asked you to go, and you just went? Didn’t you think it might be a trap?”
“Don’t be angry,” Tatiana said. “He couldn’t refuse. He still owes the bar owner three hundred thousand.”
Anna remembered, and her anger subsided. It really wasn’t his fault.
Will pressed his lips together. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled. There wasn’t much else to say.
Tatiana didn’t blame him further. “We’ll find a way to bail you out.” They had to find a way. Otherwise, all their efforts would be wasted. The company’s promotional campaign was ready; they couldn’t afford a setback.
The immediate priority was to get the victim’s forgiveness. If he dropped the charges, the matter could be resolved quietly.
Tatiana found out where the tycoon was hospitalized. She and Anna went with a fruit basket to plead Will’s case. But when they saw the extent of his injuries, their hearts sank. Will had really done a number on him. The man was practically incapacitated and furious. If not for the fact they represented Thousand Corp, he would have thrown them out.
“No settlement! Absolutely impossible! I want him to rot in jail!”
“Don’t bother pleading! If you keep asking, I won’t even give Thousand Corp face!”
“Show them out!”
The bodyguards politely escorted them out.
