Chapter 11 

Marcus said, “Sabrina’s parents were marine researchers who ended up dying in pursuit of what they loved. Their only wish was for her to get married and live an ordinary life. After meeting you, she married you and gave birth to a son for you, as per her parents‘ wishes. 

“However, in the past ten years, she’s never once given up on her marine research. She has one project that she’s never allowed you to touch, and that involves a drug that could cure marine animals. Her ruthless resolve, calm mind, and strong character are traits you will never be able to achieve. 

“You were incredibly lucky that she was willing to stay here in Belleron with you, but you failed to appreciate her.” 

Nothing but pain filled Cassius‘ eyes. His throat hurt so, so much. “Grandpa, could you help me? I don’t want Sabrina to go to that place. 30 years is way too long.” 

“I can’t help you since I don’t know where that place is either.” 

Cassius begged Marcus, “Grandpa, please. I’m begging you. I know you have a plan. Please help me!

In response, Marcus sighed. “Cass, you’ve already betrayed Sabrina. Why force things?” 

“She is my life!” 

When Marcus continued to refuse, Cassius remained kneeling before him. He knew that Marcus had an extensive web of connections, so that was his only hope. 

After three days of Cassius pleading on his knees, Marcus finally caved in and made a phone call. 

However, after the call ended, he shook his head and said, “Cass, there’s no point in you kneeling here any longer. I’ve already sent someone to investigate, and she’s long since left, taking Seb along with her. 

“There’s no signal there and no way of contacting the outside world. It’s completely closed off. Once someone steps inside there, they won’t be allowed to leave for 30 years. Even if you could find the place, you wouldn’t be able to open that gate that leads to the ocean.” 

Cassius completely lost his mind after hearing that. He dumped huge amounts of money into searching for Sabrina, to the point that the company started facing financial problems after three months. 

Moreover, half of the data for the patents that he and Sabrina had developed had been completed by her, so after the fire burned away everything in the laboratory, he couldn’t replicate the results alone. 

Thus, Folane Pharmaceuticals was facing several serious problems. 

Marcus suggested that Cassius sell off the company, but the latter adamantly refused. 

One day, someone contacted Cassius and told him that they had news about Sabrina. In return, 

they wanted shares in the company. 

Cassius instantly agreed to meet up. 

“Cassius, I’m Sabrina’s friend, Zander Roal.” 

Cassius realized that he knew the man, as Zander once had feelings for Sabrina. 

Zander said, “Sabrina never told you, but I grew up with her. For the past ten years, I’ve watched 

her love you.”
