Chapter 9 

“Mr. Folane, very soon, she won’t be your wife anymore,” the lawyer said. 

Hearing that, Cassius was even more infuriated. “You’re just a lawyer. I’d like to see which judge in the entire city of Belleron would dare take on a divorce case between me and Sabrina.” 

The lawyer took out his business card and handed it to Cassius. “Mr. Folane, I appear to have forgotten to introduce myself, as well as clarify Ms. Lirrel’s current situation.” 

Cassius stared at the words written on the card. As someone in the research and development industry, he was well aware of the significance they entailed. 

The lawyer was working for a top–tier research and development team, which also meant that he technically worked for the government. 

More importantly, that meant that he could indeed proceed with Cassius and Sabrina’s divorce even without Cassius‘ agreement. 

“Where… has she gone?” Cassius asked. 

“From now on, Ms. Lirrel belongs to no one and nothing but the ocean!” 

Cassius‘ entire body trembled. 

30 years. Where Sabrina had gone, she could only leave after she had been there for 30 years. 

He didn’t know how she could do that or how she could have the heart. 

Grabbing the divorce papers, Cassius furiously ripped them to pieces. 

The lawyer’s expression remained unchanged when he saw that. He stood up and said, “Mr. Folane, I understand your opinion on this matter now. Today, I’ll proceed with the divorce procedures between you and Ms. Lirrel. After this, she will have nothing to do with you anymore.” 

After saying that, the lawyer was prepared to leave when Cassius blocked his path. His gaze was 

fierce as he declared, “Even the country can’t take my wife and son from me! They’re mine!” 

“Mr. Folane, Ms. Lirrel went there of her own volition. Nobody forced her. As for your son, you almost killed him for the sake of another woman. In the eyes of the law, Ms. Lirrel is within her rights to sue you for attempted murder. Just this incident alone will ensure that you will never gain custody rights over Sebastian.” 

After the lawyer left, Cassius crashed to the floor with a loud thump, the sound particularly loud in the room. 

Cassius had a dream of his first meeting with Sabrina. 

At the time, she was like an ugly duckling, quietly sitting off to the side. When he took his seat, she snuck a glance at him through her thick glasses. He clearly remembered the surprise that lit up her eyes when she noticed his handsome features. 

Sabrina obviously liked his face, as after that, she would always sneakily peek at him during classes. Cassius basked in her attention, enjoying the way she couldn’t help but look at him. 

The first gift she ever gave him was an ocean–themed keychain. 

She offered him the keychain, and her tone was timid as she stuttered out, “I–I know that today’s your birthday. This is my favorite, but I’m giving it to you now.” 

Back then, Cassius never realized that in that very moment, Sabrina was handing him her dream. Without knowing it, he had become the dream she once chased. 

For the past ten years, he had been her entire world, and she practically revolved around him. 

Yet now, Sabrina had tossed him aside to pursue her dream that had been delayed for ten years.
