Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 132

Marguerite really was the perfect choice—she felt more than satisfied with her decision.

As the two of them chatted, the rest of the family began to arrive in twos and threes. Edith and Aaron showed up, followed by Leonard’s so-called cousin, Hans Murphy.

It was Marguerite’s first time meeting Hans in person. He was rather handsome, but there was something about him—an air of carelessness, arrogance that radiated from the way he slouched into the room. Instinctively, Marguerite felt uneasy around him.

“Leonard, this must be your fiancée, right? First time we’re meeting!” Hans announced, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he looked Marguerite up and down.

“Marguerite, let me introduce you,” the old lady said. “This is Hans, Leonard’s older brother.” Then she turned a sharp gaze on Hans. “Hans, this is Leonard’s fiancée. The house is lively today, and we’ll have more guests arriving soon. So behave yourself. Don’t you dare cause trouble for me again!”

The difference in her tone when speaking to Hans versus Marguerite was glaring. She never missed an opportunity to put Hans in his place.

No sooner had she finished than Edith spoke up, clearly displeased. “Mother, Hans has been busy lately. He hasn’t been home in ages. What trouble could he possibly cause?”

“If anyone’s causing trouble, it’s someone else—someone who can’t mind their own business,” Edith added, her tone pointed and hostile.

From the moment Edith and her family walked in, the entire atmosphere of the house shifted. It was nothing like before; tension crackled in the air.

“Today is Grandma’s birthday. Are you here to wish her well or to pick a fight?” Leonard suddenly cut in, his voice icy. “Can’t you save the accusations for another time?”

Clearly, what he’d done so far hadn’t been nearly ruthless enough. They still didn’t realize how wrong they were.

If that’s how they wanted to play, he wouldn’t hold back anymore.

“Leonard, I’m talking to your grandmother. Nobody asked for your opinion,” Hans said coldly, glaring at him. “Do you really think you’re so impressive? Everything you have now is because we let you have it. And now you’re still asking for more? Are you ever satisfied?”
