Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 204

He wasted no time summoning the estate’s security detail. “Take him away,” he ordered coldly. “As far as you can—just get him out of here. There’s something off about him. Maybe it’s time he paid a visit to a psychiatric hospital.”

“Yes, Mr. Murphy!” The guards scrambled over, quickly intervened, and without further ado, escorted the man out.

With half the room watching, the man struggled against their grip, shouting, “All of you, don’t even think about touching me! Why are you dragging me out like this? I’m only here to see my fiancée!”

Hogan turned to Marguerite, his patience snapping. “Marguerite, I’m giving you one last chance. Come home with me now, and I’ll pretend none of this ever happened. But if you refuse, I won’t let this go so easily.”

He was beside himself, completely disregarding appearances—even though both families prided themselves on their reputations, they couldn’t just let him make a scene like this.

People all around them started whispering. Most had heard that Marguerite once had a boyfriend, that their breakup had been messy, but no one expected them to be engaged so soon or to see such drama at her engagement party. The entire affair left everyone with strong opinions.

Winifred’s eyes sparkled with satisfaction. This was exactly the spectacle she’d been hoping for, and she relished every moment.

Meanwhile, Benjamin had been spiraling for weeks. After his company collapsed—its assets stripped away—he had nothing left to do but idle around at home. Fiona Jenkins, seeing he was now penniless and going nowhere, had walked out on him without a second thought.

Suddenly, Hogan strode up and punched Benjamin square in the face. “How long are you going to drag this out?” Hogan demanded, voice trembling with rage. “After everything you’ve done to my sister, you have the nerve to show up here and ruin her engagement party? What the hell is wrong with you?”

“You had the nerve to come today—don’t think you’ll be leaving so easily!”

Hogan had spent years holding back his anger toward this man, but now, with Benjamin brazenly showing up, he’d finally snapped. Did Benjamin really believe his uncle could just fix everything for him?

Benjamin wiped the blood from his lip, unfazed. “I know your whole family hates me. It’s fine. Hit me if you want—I deserve it. I know I made a lot of mistakes.”
