Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 304

There were times when Leonard truly wanted to let everything go, to leave this place behind and cut all ties with them. Yet, he had grown up in this family. No matter how much distance lay between them now, he couldn’t find a way to break free completely.

That was why he felt so torn, unable to figure out how to handle these complicated relationships.

Watching his two brothers constantly plotting against each other, he felt a pang of sorrow for his grandmother. He understood now why her health was steadily declining.

“I’m done for today. I’ve said everything I needed to say. The rest is up to you two—do as you see fit. If you want to visit, I won’t stop you. But if all you care about is taking back the company, you can forget it!”

With that, the elderly Mrs. Murphy signaled for the housekeeper to wheel her back into her room. She had no desire to waste another word on them.

After she was gone, Marguerite and Leonard exchanged a glance. There was no point in staying, especially with Leonard’s mother still around. If they remained, the argument would only escalate, so it was best to leave as soon as possible.

Leonard was just about to lead them out when Aaron’s voice cut through the silence, stopping them in their tracks.

“Leonard, I heard you were willing to give up the company. At least you have a shred of conscience left. But don’t fool yourself—this company will never be yours. No matter what my mother says, you’re still an outsider. We’ll take back what rightfully belongs to our family!”

His tone was icy, leaving no room for negotiation.

“You’ve got years of experience anyway—any firm would snap you up in a heartbeat. Maybe it’s time you started thinking about your own future.”

Baron’s words were sharp and final, as if he was going out of his way to make a point.

“These are Grandmother’s decisions,” Leonard said simply. “I’ll follow whatever she arranges.”

Things had already escalated past the point of no return. Leonard never wanted to get involved in the first place, but Grandmother wouldn’t let him go. Now, with no other choice, he had to grit his teeth and take on the company, whether he liked it or not.
