Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 318

The two of them held each other tightly, as if they’d been waiting for this day for a long, long time. Somehow, now that it had finally come, they cherished their feelings for each other all the more.

“Alright, it’s settled, then,” one of them said with a smile.

Once everything had been laid out in the open, they realized their relationship wasn’t really all that complicated. As long as their hearts were together, happiness would follow.

Afterward, Hogan stepped outside and sent his sister a quick message, letting her know that he and Hannah had made up—and that soon, they’d be moving Hannah’s things back in.

Marguerite was already on her way to Grandma’s house when she saw the message. She couldn’t help but smile; at last, everything was resolved, and the two of them were finally back together.

If things hadn’t worked out between them in the end, Marguerite would have always felt a sense of regret. After all, she’d always believed she played a part in how things had turned out; if it weren’t for her, maybe things would never have come to this.

Now, for the first time in a while, she felt at peace.

But there was still the matter of Grandma to worry about. They’d agreed that Grandma would take a few days to think things over, and that time was almost up. Leonard was still pressing her for an answer, so Marguerite wanted to get home and see how Grandma’s decision was coming along.

She’d been so busy with Hogan’s problems lately that she hadn’t even had a chance to stop by and check in on Grandma, and she realized how much she missed the old woman—how much she wanted to spend time with the elderly Mrs. Murphy.

Marguerite understood how her grandmother felt. If she were in Mrs. Murphy’s place, she might have made the same choice. She knew her grandmother simply didn’t want to burden them.

“Grandma, if this is what you’ve decided, I won’t say anything more to persuade you. I don’t want you taking on so much risk either. The truth is, I worry about you every single day. I’ve researched every possible option, hoping there might be something that could help. But as your family, I’ll admit I’m selfish—I want you to get better, so you’ll always be here with us.”

Marguerite spoke from the heart, her eyes reflecting her concern and her love. She hated to see her grandmother suffer, hated to feel so helpless.

But there was only so much they could do. All they could do now was search for whatever comfort or solution they could find, together.
