Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 317

“Hannah, let’s leave the past where it belongs. We don’t need to talk about it anymore—let’s just pretend those things never happened. Honestly, what you’ve been through doesn’t matter to me. If it did, I wouldn’t be here with you now.”

“We see the world the same way, and I love your spirit—your optimism, the way you face life head-on. That’s why I want to be with you.”

“If you’re willing, I want to walk this path with you, for as long as you’ll have me. We’ll get married, build a happy home, maybe even have a child of our own.”

“I’ve spent so much time picturing a future with you—a happy, ordinary life. I thought all of that was lost, that it would just be a bittersweet memory. But somehow, here we are—I get another chance.”

Hogan squeezed Hannah’s hand, his eyes full of warmth and sincerity. He realized, deep down, that he truly couldn’t live without her. She was different from anyone else he’d ever known.

They’d been apart for so long, every day dragging by like it would never end, as if centuries had passed instead of months.

But now he was back, and nothing was going to drive them apart again.

“To be honest, I did look into where you’d gone. When I found out you’d run off to such an isolated spot, my heart ached for you. I wanted to come find you, but I was afraid I’d be intruding, that you’d just end up disappearing again if you knew I was looking. I can’t stand the thought of you having to keep running.”

“But I promise, I’ll change. I won’t go snooping or checking up on you again. Your past is yours—it’s over and done with. What matters is our future, the life we’ll build together.”

Hogan’s words were steady and full of conviction. He loved this woman—truly loved her—and he wouldn’t waste this second chance they’d been given.
