Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 330

“Don’t worry. I’ll handle this, and I promise nothing like this will ever happen again.”

He had made this vow before, his tone unwavering. Sometimes, people needed to understand where the boundaries lay—what they were allowed to meddle in, and what was absolutely off-limits. Hurting the woman he loved was something he would never tolerate.

Marguerite had never done them any harm. She’d never once stooped to their level or held a grudge, yet they still refused to let things go. Their behavior was nothing short of outrageous.

“Come on, let’s not waste our energy being angry over people who don’t matter,” Marguerite said gently. “We shouldn’t let them ruin our day. All that matters is making sure Grandma is comfortable, that Mrs. Murphy’s health stabilizes. That’s enough. Honestly, I think she’s refusing the surgery because she’s afraid—afraid of what they might do to her even after it’s all over.”

Marguerite had clearly thought long and hard about all this and understood exactly what was weighing on Mrs. Murphy’s mind. If her whole family truly cared about her, Mrs. Murphy would have agreed to the operation in a heartbeat. She wanted to hold on for them, to get better for their sake.

But with her family acting like this, it was no wonder Mrs. Murphy had grown silent and withdrawn. Even if she recovered, what difference would it make? Happiness still seemed out of reach for her.

“By the way,” Marguerite said suddenly, “my brother invited us over for dinner tonight. It’s been ages since we all sat down together. Why don’t we go? I think it would do us good.”

With this kind of partnership, they could take on even more together, supporting each other every step of the way.

“You’re right,” Marguerite said, a warm smile on her lips. “My brother really is in a good place now. I can tell he cares deeply for her—he truly needs her. If they’re both in love, I’ll do everything I can to support them. I want them to stay together, for good.”

Seeing Gina happy again brought Marguerite real joy. She knew how hard the two of them had fought to be together.
