Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 335

Hannah couldn’t help but feel for Marguerite. It was hard not to, seeing the state she was in—withdrawn, weighed down by troubles she couldn’t seem to shake.

She honestly hated that things had come to this. She never wanted to see them end up like this, especially not Marguerite, who deserved so much better than the life she’d found herself stuck in. She should have been happy, not trudging through each day in misery.

“Alright, enough about their drinking. That’s a bottomless pit, and even if someone tried to fix things, it would be a mess and take forever. Let’s not worry ourselves sick over it. I still believe Leonard will sort everything out at home, one way or another.”

Leonard had always been the voice of reason in their family, the one who knew how to handle whatever came their way. But lately, things had changed. His influence at home wasn’t what it used to be, and now, no matter what he tried to do, everything seemed impossible.

Even though the elderly Mrs. Murphy was firmly on his side, what difference did it make? She was so frail these days that taking care of herself was already a struggle—she could hardly be expected to look out for him, too.

“So let’s drop their drama for now and talk about something happier,” Hannah said, forcing a smile. “Come with me to pick out a gift—I could use your advice. It’s my first time visiting your family, and I have no idea what they’d like. I want to bring something thoughtful.”

Hannah was always attentive, always trying her best to do something kind for others, especially since it was her first time meeting his family. She wanted his mother to like her, maybe even become friends. She hoped this visit would bring them closer.

“Alright, alright. Whatever my lady says, I’ll do.” Hogan grinned, giving in, “Let’s head out now. There’s a mall nearby with that scarf shop my mom loves, and my dad’s favorite tea brand has a store there too. We can pick something out together.”

He always spoiled her, letting her have her way in the little things. After all, after everything they’d been through to find each other again, he wasn’t about to quibble over something this small. As long as Hannah was happy, that was all that mattered.

“Perfect! Let’s go then!” Hannah beamed, genuinely excited to do something for his family and looking forward to the visit even more.
