Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 340

This is just outrageous!

“Come on, big brother, you can stop with the smug remarks now. If you two actually get married, I promise I’ll find a way to get back at you—and don’t forget you’re older than me. Now that you’ve finally found yourself a Maple City girl, does that mean it’s time to tie the knot?”

Marguerite didn’t bother to hold back with Hogan. Wasn’t it just mutual teasing at this point? Why should she be afraid—besides, both Hogan and his girlfriend were a few years older than her, so it made sense for them to be the next in line for marriage.

They might have just started dating, but from the way they looked at each other, it was clear both of them were thinking long-term.

Hannah, on the other hand, had all but given up on marriage. The fact that she was willing to give things with Hogan another chance said everything; she must still care deeply for him. If she wasn’t serious, there’s no way she would have let him back into her life so easily.

“Don’t think I don’t know what’s going on in your heads,” Mrs. Taylor chimed in, her tone half stern, half loving. “You two had better not waste any more time. While your mother’s still young enough to help out with the grandkids, you should hurry up and have children! Don’t you dare leave them all to the nanny—I’m the one who worries the most. How can we trust outsiders to raise our family’s children?”

Mrs. Taylor had always taken this sort of thing seriously. She wanted nothing more than for her children to seize the moment and not put off their futures.

“Alright, Mom, I get it,” Marguerite replied, trying to sound reassuring. “I know you mean well, but don’t worry, we’ll think things through carefully. Besides, this is Hogan’s first time bringing his girlfriend home—let’s just enjoy dinner and each other’s company, okay? Let’s not get into all that right now.”

Marguerite had honestly never given these questions much thought, but her mother’s sudden remarks caught her off guard. She and Hogan had never really talked about any of this, and their relationship always seemed to hover somewhere between warm and cool. She still wasn’t sure what Hogan truly felt for her.

“Sounds good, Dad. It’s been ages since we sat down for a drink together. If Leonard were here, the three of us could really celebrate.”

Leonard might not be related by blood, but in their hearts, he was already family.

“That’s true, but there will be plenty more chances in the future. Tonight, it’s just the two of us—and we’ll raise a glass to you finding the right girl.”

Mr. Taylor’s eyes softened as he clapped Hogan on the back. “I really am happy for you, son. Treat her well, you hear?”
