Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 350

Sending flowers was just the first step. He hoped it would add a touch of novelty to their days and show her how committed he was to their relationship.

A small smile played on Marguerite’s lips. He really was unlike any other man. She hadn’t meant for him to take her words so literally, but his earnestness was touching. It was clear he cared deeply about her and valued what they had.

And she had to admit, receiving flowers from the man she loved felt wonderful. She couldn’t remember the last time a man had sent her flowers, if ever. It was a new and delightful feeling.

“Thank you for the flowers, they’re beautiful. I love them,” she said softly. “But I know how busy you are at work. You don’t have to do this every day or waste your precious time on things like this. What I want most is for you to finish your work and get some rest. I hate seeing you so exhausted all the time.”

While she appreciated his effort, she didn’t want him to feel pressured. Their relationship didn’t need to be defined by daily grand gestures; a little more emotional connection was all she truly craved.

Sometimes, she felt so conflicted. Was she asking for too much? He was already so good to her, yet here she was, wanting more, even when she knew how tired he was.

“I did a lot of reflecting after we spoke yesterday,” Leonard said, his voice serious. “I thought I was being attentive, taking care of your every need, trying to solve all your problems. But then I realized… you’ve never actually needed me to solve anything for you. You’re perfectly capable on your own. And more importantly, while you might seem happy on the surface, I haven’t been putting enough effort into our relationship. I’m going to change that. I’ll show you with my actions how much you mean to me, so you never have to doubt it again.”

“Thank you,” she whispered again, feeling like a little girl who’d just been given the most wonderful gift.

After the call, she placed the bouquet on her desk, admiring it for a long time. She considered taking it home at the end of the day but then decided against it.
