Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 349

Marguerite gave her a quick rundown of their current work plan, including two major projects, one of which was a collaboration with Luke’s company. She was confident in their new patent; the idea was truly ahead of its time. Their partnership had always been seamless, each anticipating the other’s thoughts, which was why their bond had grown so strong.

“That’s fantastic, Ms. Taylor! It feels like just yesterday we left our old jobs to start this, and look at us now. All our hard work has paid off. Our little studio is now a proper company, and we have more and more people joining us. I feel so proud… I’m practically a company veteran now!” Laura laughed. “I know that as long as we work together, we can achieve anything. Nothing will ever make me leave this company, not even Mr. Zade. Even if we do get together one day, I’m staying right here!” she declared firmly. “I think couples can live together, but they need their own space when it comes to work. So no, I am absolutely not leaving.”

Laura had never once considered it. The company was her home.

“Alright, now go on. Don’t keep him waiting. I’ve got everything under control here, so don’t worry. If I don’t call, just focus on taking care of him. You don’t need to think about anything else.”

After a few more words, Marguerite hung up, a smile on her face. It seemed things were finally falling into place for her two friends. Even if it started as friendship, spending so much time together was bound to foster a deep sense of dependence and affection. She was certain that by the time Luke was discharged, they would be a couple.

She was truly happy for them. They were both important people in her life, and if they found happiness together, it would only bring them all closer.

After hanging up the phone, Marguerite walked toward her office, only to stop short at the entrance. Propped against her door was a large bouquet of flowers.

How strange. Who would leave them here?

“It was,” he confirmed. “You told me yesterday that things between us felt a little too predictable, that there were no surprises. I’ve been thinking about it, and I decided it might be nice to create a few small surprises for you every day.”

Leonard admitted he was new to this and found it a bit challenging, but he had given it serious thought.
