I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 163

“If you four keep making trouble for me, we’re all going to end up out on the street!” Niamh’s voice cracked with emotion.

For over five years, she had been holding on by a thread, but right now, she felt like she was about to snap. The quadruplets had been one handful after another these past few days.

“Haley’s father is an important official,” she added, her voice choked with tears. “After what you did, he’s not going to let this go!”

“I’m not scared!” Keir retorted, biting back his own tears. “He’s the one who called us strays! He’s the one who pulled Aurelia’s hair! If he does it again, I’ll hit him again!”

“CRACK.”

The bamboo switch landed on Keir’s backside again. He let out a pained hiss but didn’t move an inch.

“So, you think you’re in the right, do you?” Niamh said, her voice shaking with anger. “Later, you are going with me to apologize to Haley.”

“I’m not going!” Keir shot back defiantly. “You can beat me to death, but I won’t go!”

“You—” Niamh raised the switch again, ready to strike.

But Aurelia suddenly ran over and stood in front of Keir, facing her mother with tears streaming down her face.

Niamh’s eyes went wide. She stared at Jareth in disbelief. Had he taken the wrong medication today? Why was he suddenly siding with Keir? The Jareth she knew was all stern authority and domineering presence. This man, with the faint smile playing on his lips, seemed like a completely different person.

“Mr. Bragg, would you please stay out of this? I’m trying to discipline my children,” Niamh said, unimpressed. His words would only encourage their defiant behavior, and she didn’t like it one bit.

“Ms. Lynn, I think that’s enough,” Jareth countered. “They’re just kids. You can teach them as they grow.”

When he was a boy, he had been even more of a troublemaker than Keir. Anyone who dared to cross him got a fist to the face. He genuinely liked the boy’s spirit.

“Mr. Bragg! No one will think you’re mute if you keep your mouth shut!” Niamh snapped.
