I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 35

Jove rolled his eyes. “Don’t be so dramatic, Keir. Mommy said there are lots of people in the world who look alike.”

“I guess,” Keir mumbled. “But Jove… do you think this Mr. Bragg is the one who’s bullying Mommy?”

“He’s a CEO. Why would he bother bullying Mom? It doesn’t seem likely,” Jove reasoned.

“True.” Keir fell silent for a moment. “But something still feels wrong.”

Just as Jove was about to ask what he meant, the phone buzzed with a new message.

Keir quickly opened it. It was from Mr. Bragg. A long block of text appeared on the screen.

Keir squinted, struggling to read it; there were too many words he didn’t recognize.

“Jove, can you read this? What did Mr. Bragg send to Mom? It’s so long… and it looks like a list of food.” He handed the phone to his brother.

Jove read the message carefully. “Keir, you were right. This is the guy who’s been bullying Mom.”

“I knew it!” Keir said, his excitement rising. “Quick, read it to me! What does it say?”

Jove cleared his throat and began to read aloud: “‘Niamh, for my meals, I don’t eat onions, ginger, or garlic. No soy sauce or MSG. For meats, no pork. For fruits, no durian. For vegetables, no celery or fennel. You’d better write this down. If you forget, I’ll double your penalty.’”

When he finished, Keir was furious. “Who does this guy think he is? Does he think Mom is his personal maid?”

Keir snatched the phone back. Gritting his teeth, he found the poop emoji and spammed it several times. Then he sent an audio message: “How about this? You eat this?”

He followed it up with another message. “If you like it, I’ll have my mommy bring you a whole bucket tomorrow!”
