I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 46

Slap!

Rhoslyn marched up to Cormac and struck him across the face.

“Cormac, how could you do this to me?” she screamed.

They had lived together for five years. She’d been pregnant three times and miscarried three times, and all along, he was chasing another woman behind her back? And of all people, it was Niamh?

Were there no other women left in the world? Why her? He knew how much she despised Niamh, how they had been rivals since childhood.

“Are you even a man?” she shrieked, her voice cracking. “Niamh was right to reject you! And I don’t want you anymore either! We’re done!”

She turned and stormed away. He had never loved her anyway. Every time he was drunk and they were together, he would whisper Niamh’s name. With every utterance, her hatred for Niamh grew, and after five years, it had seeped into her very bones.

Niamh was just the Lynn family’s adopted daughter. What right did she have to compete with her? What right did she have to be happier than her?

...

It was ten past seven when Niamh arrived at the Emerald Bay Estates villa. She had stopped at a store on the way to buy a new pair of slippers.

Since she had just cleaned before, the work went much faster tonight. As she was cleaning the living room, she noticed that the roses she had picked had been thrown into the trash, vase and all. Such beautiful flowers, wasted.

She finished cleaning by eight-ten and headed to the kitchen.

A note on the refrigerator caught her eye. In elegant script, it said, “You didn’t make enough.”

She couldn’t help but smile. It seemed no one could resist her cooking, not even this mysterious homeowner. Lyric always said she was a world-class chef held back by circumstances.

Her cooking skills were a gift from her adoptive mother, Ffion, who had forced her to stand on a stool and cook for the family since she was four. After giving birth to the quadruplets, she had delved deeper into the culinary arts, learning to create delicious and nourishing meals from the simplest, cheapest ingredients to keep her children healthy.

Thinking of her children always filled her with a renewed sense of strength, no matter how tired she was.
