I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra) novel Chapter 49

Jessica’s face went white with panic. It was clear she was terrified I actually had proof.

"You're the face of this company, yet you use your position to bully and humiliate people. This corporation is truly pathetic to have an employee like you." I smiled, my eyes sharp as daggers. While speaking, I sent the recording of my conversation with Jessica to Steven, along with a text: [If you don't let me up, your company is about to have a massive scandal on its hands.]

After hitting send, I glanced at Jessica. "Apologize to me now, and I might be merciful enough not to expose you. Otherwise…"

Jessica was completely cornered. But with everyone watching, her embarrassment turned to rage. She grabbed my arm and tried to drag me away. "You crazy woman! I don't know what you're talking about! You're just angry that I stopped you from seducing Mr. Lancaster, so you're making things up! Get out!"

I was about to twist her arm when someone else intervened, pulling her away. Gordon’s face was a mask of cold fury. "What do you think you're doing? Is this how you do your job?"

I raised an eyebrow and relaxed my hand. Gordon was here. It seemed Steven had gotten my message. Hmph. He wouldn’t answer my calls, clearly trying to give me the cold shoulder.

Seeing Gordon, Jessica immediately dropped her aggressive act and put on a pitiful expression. "Gordon, this woman is crazy. She was insulting me, and I was just about to escort her out."

Gordon’s expression darkened. "Shut up. Do you have any idea who this is? This is Mrs. Lancaster!"

Jessica’s face instantly drained of all color. "What? She's… Mrs. Lancaster?!"

Gordon ignored her and gestured for me to proceed. "Ma'am, I am so sorry for what you've had to endure. I promise this will never happen again. Mr. Lancaster is waiting for you upstairs."
