I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra) novel Chapter 56

Soon, the assistant called with good news. The fashion show was a huge success. Although they didn't win first place, they came in second, and the collection was being featured on every major news outlet. Given the disastrous start, it was a phenomenal outcome, far exceeding Myron's expectations.

Just then, my new name came to me. "Let's go with Kardia. That's the name I want to use." Never forget your heart, and you will find your way. It was a motto I needed to remember, and it perfectly suited my current state of mind.

Myron's eyes crinkled with a smile. He snapped his fingers. "Good. Kardia it is." He turned to his assistant. "Get a close-up shot of the pieces Somania—I mean, Kardia—redesigned. The press release should read: 'New Jewelry Design Prodigy 'Kardia' Joins Atelier V!'"

The assistant nodded happily. "Right away, sir."

After she left, Myron casually draped an arm over my shoulder, a playful grin on his face. "A triumphant debut. We have to celebrate."

I shrugged his arm off. "That's not necessary. As an employee of your company, it's what I'm paid to do." He was giving me a high salary; it was only right that I delivered value.

"No way," Myron said, grabbing my arm and pulling me along. "You're not like my other employees. You're my hero. Let's go."

His enthusiasm was infectious, so I didn't protest further. After a morning of battling with Steven, I was actually quite hungry.

As we stepped out of the office, I ran into Jacob again. He was holding a file, watching the live stream of the show with a group of colleagues. When he saw Myron and me, his face lit up with an expression of pure, unadulterated awe, even more dramatic than Myron's had been. He rushed over, his eyes shining.

"Ms. Jones! I saw what you did, how you saved the show! And I saw the news coverage. It was breathtaking! I had no idea you were so talented!"
