"Alright then," Myron said. "We're going to lunch. You should come with us."
Jacob happily agreed. Myron took us to a high-end French restaurant. As soon as we arrived, a playful, roguish grin spread across Myron's face. "I have some personal business to attend to. Order whatever you want from the menu. Don't worry about the cost." With that, he sauntered off into the restaurant.
I watched as he passed the front desk, smoothly plucking a single rose from a vase. He hid it behind his back as he approached a beautiful woman in a pink suit. When he presented the rose to her, her face lit up with a delighted smile. "Jingming, you're here! It's been so long!" They immediately fell into an easy conversation. His reputation as a playboy was well-earned; it had taken him less than a minute to charm a stunning woman.
I shook my head with a small smile, then led Jacob to a table. A waiter quickly brought us menus. The prices were exorbitant. If I were paying, I would never have been able to afford it. But it was Myron's money, and he was Steven's best friend, so there was no need to be polite. I ordered everything that looked interesting or delicious, then handed the menu to Jacob.
Jacob looked at the menu, a little overwhelmed and self-conscious. "Ms. Jones, I'm not sure what to get. You can just order for me." He blushed, looking very much like a college student.
I smiled gently. "Don't be nervous. The boss is paying today. Order whatever you want."
Jacob relaxed a little and took the menu, his clear eyes scanning the pages. He chose two simple dishes and handed the menu back to the waiter.
Just then, a group of stylish young women approached our table. The one in the lead wore a short black slip dress and black velvet stilettos, a look that was both innocent and seductive. She was holding her phone up, filming Jacob and me, only lowering it when she reached our table.
