Ira’s Pov
I wait impatiently as Lior takes a seat and grabs his cup of tea before revealing more about what he found out about my father.
“I baked a cake. Just like your mother used to,” Linda excitedly tells, flashing the most seductive smile.
Couldn’t she wait for him to say something about my father? It’s not like her cake is going bad if not eaten within the next few seconds. But… perhaps it will go bad. Because she put a million ingredients in hope of making it the best he has ever tasted.
“Can we have it for breakfast?” Lior asks and disappointment takes over Linda’s face.
“No. It will grow cold. It’s good that you eat it with this delicious stew,” she says and hurries to get the cake before he can argue.
Of only I got a mate who is just as obsessed with me as she is with him. I would be feeling like a queen. Because having someone that honesty desires your company and approval is the definition of true love. It doesn’t always get reciprocated though.
“I would prefer that we talk about your father after you have recovered fully. Too much worry can slow your healing process,’ Lior says after Linda has left the room. “But I know you will not rest until I tell you what I found out, will you?”
“No. I won’t eat either. My father is the only family I have and finding him is all I think about everyday,” I say quickly.
He nods. “I was informed that King Ademon and his family are the ones who has been hunting down members of your family for centuries. They believe that your blood can be used to tame dragons and even control them depending on the amount of blood they have extracted. Your father must have been fleeing from King Ademon’s men when he brought you to this kingdom. He might have left to protect you. So that King Ademon’s men wouldn’t come after you too,” he tells.
I hope that it is not the latter. Because that would mean that they drained his blood just like they did to my mother.
“If they captured him Princess Andria would be aware of it. But we cannot ask her. If you do not mind I will keep looking for more information while you stay here and heal,” Lior says.
I nod. I am inwardly dying with the desire to take revenge against Princess Andria. Perhaps I can make her dragon eat her. She may have tamed it but I am sure it would bend to my will. I am however afraid that Lior may not approve such actions as he has not presented revenge as an option yet. Besides I should kill her father first. He is the man who sent his men to hunt my family. I wonder how long they have been doing it. Is it the reason I have no relatives?
“I will try building a closer relationship with Princess Andria so I can find out from her if her father’s men found your father. She pretends to be smart but she is actually quite stupid. I can have charmed my way into her circle of friends within a week,” Lior adds and I smile in approval.
