I Welcome Your Rejection: Angel Kings’ Proud Mate novel Chapter 54

Ira’s Pov

“I need to go back and save my friend from a trap,” I say to the Sincarion, turning to head back.”Come with me.”

“Those won’t be necessary,” he points at the cloaks. “I set the traps to catch Lysandra’s spies. It’s better I help free your friend without fouling the clothes of the mighty kings. Who knows how they will react?”

I nod. Of course the angel kings wouldn’t be pleased to wear the cloaks after we have used them to break Linda’s fall.

“Why did you set traps?” I question as he leads the way to the clearing.

“Lysandra and her followers hunts us too. Her dark spirits craves sacrifices of Sincarion kindred,” he answers.

So Lysandra is a common enemy of us both. I cannot speak for the angel kings as I am not honestly sure that they will remain on our side.

I wonder what other illusions they have created to lie to me. Nothing seems real anymore. Getting a Sincarion was indeed the best decision I have made. If I am the one paying him, he works for me.

I spot Lior and Thumas talking in a low tone as we approach the clearing. That’s something I did not expect. They were enemies since Thumas turned out to be a spy of the witch. What could they be discussing so calmly?

“Can you hear what they are saying?” I ask the Sincarion.

“Not unless we get closer.”

We get closer and the two notice us. “Where are the cloaks? And who the hell is-“

“I found a Sincarion. He will help get her down safely,” I inform.

There is a hush moment as both Lior and Thumas appear astounded. “How would you do that?”

“She is an attractive woman,” the Sincarion answers. “I am Aruin.”

They all shake hands.

“A Sincarion indeed. The devious witch pays a fortune for a captive of your kind. I did not expect us to find one so easily,” Thumas says.

We should seal his loose mouth. Clearly he has been hunting Sincarions for Lysandra and is disappointed that he can’t have this one.

“A Sincarion, yes. I found one. So we can go ahead and March to Witchelms where you promised to kill your evil aunt,” I say.

Aruin did say that he doesn’t want to join the dangerous quest. But I need to know if the kings are committed to killing their aunt. Later Aruin will tell me if they have lied.

“You did amazingly well, Ira,” King Tiras Compliments. “But like we discussed, we must learn more about witchelms first so that the witch doesn’t steal our powers. Now that you found a Sincarion we can interrogate her spy and know that he is telling the truth,” he adds.

“That can be done on the way. Unless you’re not in a hurry to kill your aunt,” I reply.

“Ira, we already swore to end her and her coven as soon as we get the chance. You can ask the Sincarion if we are lying,” King Adon answers.

I look back at Aruin and he nods his head. “They are honest about that.”

I inwardly sigh in relief. At least I am assured that they won’t join forces with her when I need to save my father.

King Ronen steps forward, reaching into the pockets of his cloak. He takes out a stunning necklace made of white pearls and golden beads. “We found this on the Island, thought you would like it,” he says, holding out the necklace for me to take. It’s obviously another stupid illusion. I need to put an end to this foolishness.
