Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 333

Klaus’s voice boomed through the phone, sharp and angry. “Clive!”

“Dad, I’ve got things to handle. Gotta go.” Without waiting for a response, Clive hung up, tossed his phone on the desk, and slumped back in his chair, pressing his fingers to his temples in frustration.

His father’s parting shot wouldn’t stop ringing in his ears. If you can’t let go of Amelia—she loves you, she does whatever you say. After the divorce, if you want to keep her around, keep her in your bed, I won’t interfere…

Honestly, Clive had been thinking about Amelia more than he cared to admit. Part of him really didn’t want to let her go.

But the logical part of his brain always won out. Amelia just wasn’t Mrs. Salmeron material anymore. She wasn’t useful to him now.

Still, there were other ways to keep her close. As long as she stayed obedient, he didn’t mind keeping her around, pampered and caged like a precious pet.

And they had two kids together. No matter what, that tie would never really break.

He sat there for a while, then pulled up his email and opened the divorce agreement Andrew had sent yesterday. The more he read, the uglier his mood got.

With a snap, he slammed his laptop shut.

Was Amelia out of her mind? Those demands would take half his assets. Had she lost it?

Amelia had barely stopped all day, racing through work at the office.

By the time she finished, her arms ached and her shoulders were stiff. She wanted to power through the hardest part of the project herself, then leave the rest to Belle and the team. All she’d have to do was check in every now and then.

That way, she could finally report to Dr. Wade and start her new job.

Her phone buzzed. Diana’s message popped up.

Diana: Off work yet?

Amelia grinned and replied: You’re a mind reader. Just wrapped up.

Diana: Then come downstairs. There’s a package for you at the back door.

Amelia: Huh??

She quickly gathered her things and hurried down. As soon as she stepped out the back door, someone shoved a huge bouquet of yellow roses into her arms.

Diana’s flawless, doll-like face peeked out from behind the flowers. “Surprise!”

“…Fine.”

She was curious to see what kind of deal Clive was trying to pull.

As soon as she accepted Isaac’s friend request, the divorce agreement came through.

It was barely a page. Amelia finished reading in seconds and let out a cold, disbelieving laugh.

Diana leaned over to look, then burst out, “Are you kidding me? Did an actual person write this? He wants you to agree to the divorce, gives you two million as a ‘thanks for having my kids’ bonus, but only in monthly installments? And you get to see the kids once a month? If he’s in a good mood, maybe twice?”

Diana looked about ready to punch someone. “Clive is such a jerk. Is it even possible to be more shameless?”

Just then, another message popped up from Isaac.

Ms. Sadinton, Clive asked me to remind you, this is the best deal you’ll get. If the Salmeron family steps in, you’ll end up with nothing.

Amelia’s eyes narrowed.

Was that supposed to be a threat?
