Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 366

When Cameron found out Kristen was hurt, it was like he felt every bit of her pain himself. He dropped everything and rushed straight to the hospital.

“It’s nothing serious, really. Probably won’t even leave a scar,” Kristen said, glancing over at Cameron with a small, apologetic smile. “Sorry for dragging you into this again.”

Cameron’s face cooled. “You don’t have to apologize to me. Don’t be so polite.”

He looked over at Clive and jerked his chin toward the hallway.

Michael jumped in right away. “You two want to talk? Go outside. Let the patient get some rest.”

After so many years as friends, Clive and Cameron didn’t need to say a word. Clive nodded and followed Cameron out.

Kristen picked up on the tension before the door even closed.

Trying to keep her tone light, she turned to Michael. “Hey, what’s up with Cameron and Clive? They seem off.”

Michael started peeling an orange, talking as he went. “Oh, that? They got into a fight over Amelia last time at the club. Things have been weird ever since. I’m always stuck playing messenger between them.”

A glint flashed in Kristen’s eyes. She gripped the blanket a little tighter, fighting down a wave of jealousy.

“They… fought because of Amelia?” She could hardly believe it. Clive, fighting over Amelia? With Cameron, of all people?

“Yeah. Honestly, Cameron’s always had it out for Amelia—he’s said some pretty harsh stuff. Clive overheard him one time, and then Cameron went and blacklisted her. Clive was already in a bad mood that day and just snapped.”

Michael popped a slice of orange into his mouth. “None of us saw it coming, honestly. Guess Clive cares about Amelia a lot more than we thought.”

He realized too late he’d said too much, especially when Kristen’s face clouded over. He quickly tried to fix it. “But come on, Kristen. You’re way more important to Clive. The whole Salmeron family is a total mess right now, but he’s here, taking care of you, barely even leaving your side. You two are perfect for each other—nothing could come between you.”

Kristen’s expression softened a bit, and she managed a weak smile. “Don’t tease, Michael. Clive’s still married, you know.”

Michael just shrugged, seeing right through her. “Not for long. After what happened with Amelia, there’s no way they’re going back to how things were.”

Kristen’s lips curled into a sly smile.

He’d trusted her too much. All those years, all that love. He’d thought, no matter what, she’d always have a soft spot for him. He’d let his guard down completely.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

Cameron reached out to pat Clive on the shoulder, about to offer some comfort, when the rooftop door banged open. Several Salmeron family bodyguards stormed in. Everyone knew they only took orders from the matriarch.

The head guard stepped right up to Clive. “Mr. Salmeron, the matriarch wants you back at the family estate. Now.”

Clive dropped his cigarette and crushed it under his shoe, then followed them out without a word.

But when they got to Kristen’s floor, he saw two guards dragging her out of her room. Michael was trying but failing to stop them.

Kristen cried out in pain.

Donna stood nearby, arms crossed, a smirk on her face. “Ms. Watts, didn’t you always love getting involved with the Salmeron family? Well, this time, the matriarch wants to see you in person!”
