Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 447

Mr. Baker… How could he invite Amelia?!

Kristen stared, stunned, not trusting what she’d just heard. Her fingers clenched so hard around her palm that her perfect nude manicure nearly snapped. Only the sting in her hands kept her from screaming right there in front of everyone.

Bianca couldn’t help herself. “Mr. Baker, are you sure? Didn’t you mean Kristen?”

Seriously, what was up with this family? Did none of them understand simple instructions?

Felix looked like his patience was running on fumes, though he kept that polite, chilly smile. “Mrs. Watts, my hearing’s still working just fine. Could you please ask Ms. Watts to step aside?”

“Mr. Baker…” Kristen tried to protest, voice tight with frustration, but Hank, who’d been silent and stone-faced all along, cut her off.

“Kristen, sit down. Don’t block Mr. Baker’s way.”

She caught her father’s warning glare and had no choice but to swallow her pride, forcing herself back into her seat, stiff and furious.

Clive was just as blindsided. He never would’ve guessed that Amelia, of all people, would catch Mr. Baker’s eye.

He watched as Amelia followed Felix to the main table. The whole banquet hall turned to look, every single guest fixated on her.

Amelia—the same girl he used to see as nothing special, just a poor doctor’s orphan—walked with a quiet calm, totally unbothered by the spotlight. There was a grace about her, like nothing could shake her.

Clive’s hand slowly relaxed around his glass, pins and needles running through his palm. He let out a slow, frustrated breath, eyes dark and unreadable.

Amelia…

She used to be his wife. He thought he’d known everything about her. But after the divorce, she felt like a stranger. What else had she kept from him all these years? How did she hide so much?

“Grandpa Baker.” Amelia stopped in front of Mr. Baker, her smile gentle and steady, her tone calm and sincere—not trying to flatter, just being herself. Mr. Baker stared at her, eyes wet with emotion.

“Grandpa Baker, since today’s your birthday, I brought you two gifts. I hope you’ll like them.”

Mr. Baker’s eyes were bright with delight as he looked at her, his voice full of genuine affection. “What gifts? Show me.”

Now the entire banquet hall was hanging on every word, dying to see what would happen next.

Kristen, who used to be everyone’s favorite, was suddenly invisible, while Amelia—out of nowhere—had everyone’s attention. No one was more tense than the Watts family.

Kristen glared, her anger simmering. Let’s see what this little nobody could possibly give.

“Grandpa Baker, the first gift is a prescription, already made into pills. Take one a day—it should help with your knee pain.” Amelia handed him a little embroidered pouch, her voice gentle. “I know the Baker family can get the best ingredients, so I didn’t want to mix the medicine myself.”

Kristen almost burst out laughing.
