Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 471

She didn’t buy for a second that Kristen would actually swallow those sleeping pills.

Clive’s voice was sharp and angry. “Open the door. Now!”

His arms were full, carrying Kristen. That left Donna with no other choice. She stomped over and unlocked the front door, grumbling under her breath.

But Clive wasn’t done with her yet. “Get over here. You’re coming with us. Sit in the car and look after her.”

Donna just stared, wishing she’d never gotten up for that glass of water. But arguing was pointless, so she followed Clive outside and climbed into the car.

Kristen was sprawled out across the back seat. The space was tight, and Donna was determined not to let Kristen’s head end up in her lap. She grabbed a throw pillow and wedged it between them like a shield.

Curiosity got the better of her. Donna wondered if Kristen was really unconscious or just faking it. She reached out, about to tickle her side and see if she’d react.

Clive caught her in the act. “Donna!” he snapped.

He was so distracted that he almost rear-ended the car in front of them. Donna quickly pulled her hand back and sat up straight, deciding her own safety mattered more than satisfying her curiosity.

They reached the nearest hospital in no time. Clive rushed Kristen inside, calling for help. Nurses hurried over and whisked Kristen away for a checkup and stomach pumping.

Donna called after them, “Make sure you rinse her out extra, doctor! She needs a good cleaning!”

She turned around, only to find Clive shooting her a look dark enough to make her shrink back.

“Salmeron, someone needs to be home. I have to get back to Penny and Timmy,” Donna muttered.

Clive didn’t want her there in the first place—he only brought her because he needed help during the drive. His voice was cold. “Fine. Go.”

Donna hesitated. “Mr. Salmeron, could you call me a cab? I didn’t bring my phone or anything…”

Clive just looked at her like she was the biggest headache he’d ever had, but he called her a ride anyway.

Once Donna left, Clive took a moment to think, then called Bianca. He briefly explained Kristen’s situation and sent the hospital address.

One of the pictures showed the view outside the window. Clive zoomed in and recognized the glowing West Medicine sign not far away.

So she lived near West Medicine…

Just then, the emergency room doors swung open. Kristen was wheeled out, awake now.

Clive tucked the phone away and hurried over.

Kristen looked pale and exhausted. Clive frowned at the doctor. “How is she?”

“She’s fine. Just needs to rest tonight,” the doctor said, while two nurses pushed Kristen toward her room.

Clive thanked the doctor and followed after them.

The doctor, pulling off his mask, shook his head and muttered, “She took non-benzodiazepine meds, not enough for an overdose, plus a bit of a sedative. If she’d just made herself throw up and slept it off at home, she’d be fine. But no, she had to come in for a stomach pump. What a fuss…”
