Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 478

“Unbelievable. That guy is the worst!” Diana instantly switched to full-on Will-hater mode. “He’s actually helping that snake Kristen, and then has the nerve to chase after you? What a fake. Ugh, I can’t stand him!”

Amelia couldn’t help but laugh. “He’s honestly not that bad, it’s just…”

“He totally falls for Kristen’s crap. If he’s not a jerk, then he’s just stupid. Either way, he’s bad news.” Diana was getting more and more worked up. “And he actually tried to use me to get info about you!”

Right at that moment, Diana’s phone lit up with a call from her agent.

“Hang on, babe, my agent’s calling.”

“Go ahead, I’ll wait,” Amelia said.

Diana answered the call, instantly switching to her sweet, professional voice. “Hi, Erica.”

“There’s a late-night dinner tonight. Some big shot will be there. Get ready and head over now. I’ll introduce you, just make a good impression,” Erica said.

“Just a quick hello, right?” Diana double-checked.

Erica snorted. “What, you think Aaron would actually be into you? With that kind of money and looks? Seriously, every top celebrity in this city—doesn’t matter if they’re men or women—would do anything to be with him. Don’t get ahead of yourself.”

Wait. Men or women?

Diana practically jumped out of her chair. “Erica, are you talking about Aaron?”

All she could think of was that disastrous night—trying to hit him with a wine bottle, missing, and ending up spilling wine all over him. She wanted to dig a hole and hide.

“Yeah, you’ve heard of him, right? Hurry up and get over here.”

“Oh, no, my stomach suddenly hurts so bad,” Diana groaned, putting on her best dramatic performance. “Erica, I really can’t make it tonight. I’d just embarrass you.”

Erica sighed, totally fed up. “You’re hopeless.”

And just like that, she hung up.

Diana slumped back down and wiped the cold sweat from her forehead.

Bailey looked around and smiled. “I’ve heard so much about this place but never had the chance to come. Kristen, you have great taste.”

Bailey had clearly gone the extra mile tonight. He looked sharp and was taking the dinner seriously.

Truth was, he was really happy about the idea of joining the Watts family, and every time he looked at Kristen, he liked her more as his future daughter-in-law.

Kristen smiled. “I’m glad you like it, Mr. Salmeron. I also prepared another little surprise for you and Clive, but I’ll tell you later. And Mrs. Salmeron, I brought you a gift too.”

Kristen handed over an elegant box. Alexandra Salmeron opened it and found a beautiful, antique crystal bowl.

“I remember you said you love collecting china and glassware. This crystal bowl has been in my family for generations—over a thousand years old. I thought it would be perfect for you.”

“Oh, you are just so thoughtful!” Alexandra beamed, accepting the gift. “Kristen’s been by Clive’s side for years now, and I’ve always adored her. I almost made her my goddaughter! But I just knew she and Clive were meant to be.”

Hank added, “Kristen’s our one and only daughter. As long as she’s happy, that’s all we care about.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Watts,” Alexandra said warmly. “Once Kristen’s part of our family, we’ll treat her like our own daughter. She’ll never have to go through anything tough. Kristen, I have a welcome gift for you too!”
