Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 495

As Timmy was lost in thought, a knock came from behind. The door creaked open and Amelia peeked her head in.

“Mom!” Timmy’s eyes instantly lit up.

Amelia walked in, her smile warm and bright. She spotted Timmy’s little suitcase, already almost packed. Across the room, Penny quickly grabbed her fallen sachet and rushed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

The bang echoed through the room.

Amelia’s smile wavered, barely hiding the pain in her eyes.

She’d heard her daughter’s panicked scream just moments ago from the hallway. Even so, she forced herself to act like nothing happened, trying to keep her cool.

If Penny was willing to stay with her, Amelia truly believed she could win her daughter back. But now... Penny was pushing her away so hard...

“Penny, come on, don’t do this.” Timmy noticed how upset their mom was. He hurried to the bathroom door and knocked.

He tried the handle. Locked.

Amelia stepped up and gently pulled his hand away.

She spoke quietly through the door, her voice soft and careful. “Penny, I’m not here to take you away. I just want you and your brother to stay with me for a few days.”

“Why not try living with me, just for a bit? I set up your room super pretty. Come take a look—you might actually like it.”

Inside, Penny was curled up in the corner of the bathroom. Two voices fought in her head. One was Amelia’s gentle plea, drifting in from outside. The other was Kristen’s, twisted and sharp, repeating like a nightmare.

Penny pressed her hands over her ears, her voice breaking as she shouted, “I don’t want to hear it... Go away!”

Outside, Amelia could only assume Penny was yelling at her.

She closed her eyes, fighting a wave of hopelessness.

“Okay, I won’t say anything else...”

Donna had just come upstairs and paused at the doorway, her heart aching for Amelia. As a mother herself, she could only imagine how much Penny’s words must have hurt. It was like a knife to the heart.

Amelia quickly wiped away the tears brimming in her eyes.

Amelia smiled, and couldn’t help glancing upstairs one last time, hoping Penny would come running down. But that hope faded.

She finally left the house with Timmy.

As their car drove off, Penny pressed her face to the upstairs window, her big eyes following the car until it disappeared down the street.

Back at her place, Amelia showed Timmy the bedroom she’d set up for him. It wasn’t as big as his old one, but it was cozy and inviting, with a top-notch computer on the desk.

“Thank you, Mom. I love it!” Timmy beamed.

Amelia smiled. “I’m glad. Once I buy back the old Sadinton house and fix it up, we’ll move in. You can design your own room, however you want. Sound good?”

“Yeah!” Timmy’s face lit up, already imagining it. “I want a giant chessboard in the middle, and a life-sized astronaut model!”

He was into everything, and whatever he tried, he did well.

But Clive, seeing how smart Timmy was, always treated him like a little adult. In a way, Timmy had stepped up to fill the gap left by his absent dad, doing his best to look after Penny.
