Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 496

The truth was, Timmy was the same age as Penny—just five years old.

When Amelia just looked at him without saying anything, Timmy fell quiet, suddenly looking so grown up for his age. “Mom, it’s okay if I don’t get those things…”

Amelia felt a sting in her nose as tears threatened to fall.

She pulled Timmy into a hug, her heart aching. “Of course you should have them. Why wouldn’t you? That’s your room, your very own space. You can decorate it however you want.”

She gently held his small, handsome face, her voice soft but serious. “Don’t ever put yourself last just to make someone else happy—not even for your sister, or for me, or Dad. Got it?”

Timmy’s long lashes drooped. “Dad says I should take care of my sister. Grandpa says one day I’m supposed to take over the company, so I have to act grown-up, always be number one, make everyone proud… If I can’t do all that, they’ll be really disappointed.”

He glanced up at Amelia, uncertainty flickering in his big eyes. “I can’t let them down…”

“You absolutely can!” Amelia’s eyes filled with tears. Her heart felt like it was being squeezed. She stroked his hair and said softly, “Baby, you only need to make yourself proud. I didn’t bring you into this world just to meet someone else’s expectations. This is your life. You get to choose what you want. I’ll always have your back, no matter what.”

“I talked to your dad already. You’ll keep going to school like normal, and as for being the Salmeron family heir—that’s your decision to make when you’re older.” Amelia’s voice was warm and gentle. “No matter what you choose, I’ll always support you.”

No one had ever told Timmy that before.

He hugged his mom’s neck, whispering in her ear, “I’m really glad you woke up, Mom.”

Amelia trembled, feeling like the deepest crack in her heart had finally been mended by her little boy.

They played together for a while, until Amelia checked the time and realized it was getting late. She went to run Timmy’s bath—he had school in the morning.

Timmy got a little shy and nudged Amelia out of the bathroom so he could bathe by himself.

But he forgot his pajamas on the bed.

“Mom, can you get my pajamas for me? Just don’t look when you bring them in, okay? I’m all naked.”

Amelia laughed at how serious he sounded.

She played along, covering her eyes as she handed the pajamas in.
