Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 562

Amelia found herself standing in front of a tightly closed door. The nurse who brought her there wouldn’t even step inside.

“Ms. Sadinton, Mr. Packman’s in there. I’ll leave you to it,” the nurse blurted, and before Amelia could say a word, she turned and hurried off without looking back.

So, Ryan wasn’t exactly the model patient.

Amelia knocked, just about to announce herself, when a loud crash came from inside. Something heavy had slammed into the door.

Then Ryan’s voice, rough and full of anger, shouted, “Get out.”

Amelia paused for a second. Wow. Someone was in a mood.

She tried the handle. It wasn’t locked, so she just pushed the door open and walked in.

A metal ornament lay on the floor, clearly what had just hit the door, but it—and the door—were both fine.

Amelia picked up the ornament and set it on a nearby table without a second thought.

Ryan was sprawled on the bed, eyes closed, looking pissed even in sleep. The second he heard the door, he didn’t bother to open his eyes, just growled, “Get out. Or else—”

Amelia strolled closer, unfazed. “Or else what?”

Her voice, soft and familiar, sounded calm in the big, empty room.

Ryan went still, like he wasn’t sure if he was dreaming. Slowly, he blinked his eyes open. They were bloodshot, dark, and sharp. He stared at her like he couldn’t believe she was really there.

For a moment, he looked lost. Then he snapped out of it, pushed himself up, frowning hard. “Who brought you here?”

His words came out rough, every one edged with pain. The bandage across his chest pulled tight when he moved, and bright red started to seep through.

Amelia’s expression tightened. “Don’t move.”

She tried to help him, but he grabbed her wrist, squeezing tight. His voice dropped, low and cold. “Was it George—?”

He stopped mid-sentence, eyes zeroing in on the bruises around her neck.

Amelia’s skin was pale, and those finger-shaped marks stood out, dark and ugly.

Ryan’s whole vibe changed. The air around him turned icy, his eyes flashing with barely contained rage.
