Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 605

Amelia could hardly remember the last time her heart pounded this wildly.

Before this, she’d only ever loved Clive. That love was all about grit and stubborn hope, and honestly, it had worn her down. She remembered the day she confessed to Clive—her hands shaking, stomach twisted, feeling more scared than anything else. It was like waiting to hear a sentence, not a confession of love.

With Clive, she was always tiptoeing around. If he didn’t like something, she’d stop doing it. When she loved him, it was like she disappeared—she chipped away at herself just to fit the mold he wanted. And the moment she couldn’t give him what he needed, he tossed her aside without a second thought.

But Ryan… Ryan was nothing like that.

He’d loved her for years, never once asking her to be anyone but herself.

“Amelia.” Ryan’s voice was steady, but his hands were shaking a little as he cupped her face. He looked right into her eyes. “I love you.”

He said it like a vow, with the moon and roses standing witness.

Suddenly, Amelia felt tears sting her nose. “Ryan, I honestly don’t know how to love someone the right way. I tried before, and you saw how that ended. But I’ll do my best—”

“Love isn’t something you have to force,” Ryan said softly, brushing a stray hair from her forehead. His eyes were even gentler than the moonlight. “Pretending not to love someone, now that’s hard. Just be honest with yourself. If one day you fall in love with me, you’ll know what to do. Until then, just let me love you.”

All these years, he’d given her everything, never holding back.

Amelia threw herself into his arms. He bent down and wrapped her up, holding her tight, like he never wanted to let go. He closed his eyes, and for the first time, he felt whole.

Then Amelia remembered. “Wait, shouldn’t I change the bandage on your wound? Let me do that, and then I’ll go.”

Ryan didn’t loosen his hold. “You’re really not staying tonight?”

Immediately, Amelia’s mind jumped to some very specific scenarios, and her face heated up. “Ryan, you’re injured. Come on, don’t get any crazy ideas.”

Ryan looked completely baffled.

Then he noticed how red her ears were turning, and he couldn’t help but laugh. “Princess, you know there’s more than one room and one bed here, right? But if you insist on sharing a bed, I guess I could make that sacrifice.”

Amelia gave him a playful punch, not hard at all.

Ryan took her hand in his and led her inside.

It was a silhouette of her, crouched under a tree, gathering fallen leaves.

“Okay.”

Ryan took it down and handed it to her.

“Thank you,” Amelia said softly, holding the painting close. “Well… I should get going.”

“I’ll walk you out.” Ryan rode the elevator down with her. Inside, as Amelia admired the painting, he suddenly reached for her hand. She glanced up at him, but Ryan just looked straight ahead, acting like it was no big deal, and led her off the elevator.

Just then, Francisco came in through the front door. His eyes landed on their joined hands, and for a split second, he looked surprised before a huge grin broke out on his face.

“Mr. Packman, Ms. Sadinton,” he called, drawing out her name with a teasing lilt.

Amelia felt her cheeks heat up and quietly pulled her hand away.
