Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 632

The presidential suite at the Lilac Hotel was as luxurious as ever, but the tension in the room was impossible to ignore. Lena paced, her heels clicking against the marble floor. “Kristen, what is happening? You told me you were going to surprise Penny at her school’s family day. Now you’re holed up in a hotel? Where’s Clive? Why isn’t he here with you?”

She glanced around the suite, her confusion growing. “And why are you staying here instead of with him?”

Lena had always treated Kristen like royalty, but it wasn’t out of genuine friendship. Kristen’s family had money, and she was Clive’s first love—the woman Lena assumed would eventually become Mrs. Salmeron. Even after the Watts family scandal, Clive stuck by Kristen, and Lena made sure to keep their connection close. She was always available, always eager to help.

Kristen had explained before that Clive only announced their broken engagement to the public because he was worried the Watts family mess would tarnish the company’s image.

But now this?

Kristen let out a bitter laugh. “Clive and I have been fighting a lot lately. He’s furious with me. I was planning to leave Alson Creek for good, but I couldn’t go without seeing Penny. I just wanted to see her… and then I ran into Amelia.”

“Wait, Amelia did this to you? She actually dumped dirty water on you?” Lena shot up, indignant. “Why don’t you go tell Clive? No matter how mad he is, you’ve been with him for years, totally loyal. There’s no way he’d just ignore you! Kristen, you can’t let people walk all over you like this!”

Kristen shook her head, voice heavy with regret. “It’s not that simple. Back in college, I did something really awful to Amelia. I was stupid. If she wants to get back at me, maybe I deserve it.”

She shot a quick glance toward the bedroom door, where the edge of Cameron’s bathrobe peeked out. Her words weren’t just for Lena—they were for Cameron too.

Lena huffed. “Whatever happened, it was years ago. Amelia’s just bitter because she couldn’t have Clive. If she hadn’t been such a drama queen, you would’ve been Mrs. Salmeron by now!”

Inside the bedroom, Cameron leaned against the wall, listening closely. He knew Kristen had lied, but was Amelia really innocent? He couldn’t understand why Clive was being so heartless. Maybe it was for the best.

Cameron glanced at the messy bed, his mind drifting back to the night before. He’d shown up to find Kristen already tipsy, pulling him down to drink with her. She’d mistaken him for Clive, but after years of loving her from afar, he couldn’t bring himself to stop her. He let it happen.

He expected her to be angry in the morning, but instead, she’d been gentle and kind, even telling him that if Clive wasn’t in the picture, she’d probably fall for him. If Clive didn’t appreciate her, Cameron wasn’t going to let his chance slip away.

Kristen shook her head. “Cameron, please, don’t get yourself into trouble for me.”

He kissed her softly. “I’m not doing this just for you. Kristen, you have no idea how jealous I was every time I saw you with Clive.”

Kristen let herself lean into him, her cheeks flushed. “Cameron, I’ve been thinking. Maybe Clive and I just weren’t meant to be.” She looked up at him, eyes shining. “Maybe it’s time I appreciate what’s right in front of me.”

“Kristen!” Cameron’s voice trembled with excitement. He bent down to kiss her.

Suddenly, a cold, mocking voice echoed through the suite.

“Kristen, you really can’t live without a man, can you? First me, now Cameron.”
