Chapter 118
Alpha Ethan’s Pow
I watched as Matthew left my Murly.
What the Back was wrong with this guy thought to myself, haming
iclenched my lists, my knuckles whitening as the door clicked shut behind him. I sat down heavily in the chair behind my desk, glaring at the papers was supposed to be reviewing.
But they were all a blur now, and his words echoed in my head like a never–ending whisper I couldn’t silence.
will take her away from you”
This was the second time he had said something like this. His tone had changed, His eyes were filled with fire, with something dangerous.
No longer the calm, respectful Beta I trusted with my life. He was threatening me…for Raven.
Tran a hand through my hair and shook my head. No. He wouldn’t dare, He couldn’t.
“He won’t“Imuttered to myself, almost like a reassurance, as I burned my chair to face the open window. The breeze coming in carried the scent of the woods, and something deeper beneath it wild, earthy…her scent. Even now, hours later, it haunted my senses.
Raven.
Damn it
I leaned forward, elbows on my knees, hands folded as I tried to refocus.
But the images wouldn’t stop coming her teary eyes, her lips trembling, her body underneath mine the night before. The anger in her slap. The pain in her silence.
I closed my eyes, and for a second, I wasn’t Alpha Ethan, feared and revered; I was just a man, drowning in things I couldn’t explain.
A soft knock on the door pulled me from my spiraling thoughts.
“Come in,” I said, my voice low and tired.
The door creaked open, and Olivia stepped in holding a steaming cup of coffee.
“I figured you’d be tired,” she said with a small smile, walking over. “This is what you need.”
She set the cup in front of me. I looked at her, her eyes expectant, glowing with that warmth she always wore when she was trying to be the perfect Luna. My Luna.
I picked up the cup and took a sip.
It was good rich, strong, laced with a hint of something sweet and calming, I took another sip, slower this time, letting it warm my chest. Olivia walked around behind me, her hands resting gently on my shoulders.
“How’s work?” she asked, fingers already beginning to move over the tense muscles of my back.
“I’m really tired,” I replied without thinking.
Her hands slid down to the edge of my shirt, tugging gently. “Then you should relax. Let me take care of you.”“
I didn’t stop her when the helped me pull the shirt over my head. Her fingers moved over my bare back, pressing into knots I hadn’t realized were there, I

groaned softly, the tension melting beneath her touch.
But it wasn’t her hands felt,
My mind betrayed me again. ‘wasn’t Olivia’s gentle strokes, it was Raven’s smaller, mane hesitant hands I imagined. The way her fingers had brushed over my skin during our stalen night.
Het breath, her moans, her whispered protests that turned into longing cries.
A dreper moan escaped my lips before I could stop it.
“Ethan?” Olivia asked, her voice soft. “You okay?”
I nodded slowly, but my body was already betraying me, shifting with heat and confusion. I turned around, and she was standing there, her eyes curious and warm. I pulled her down gently onto my lap.
She let out a soft giggle as she settled herself, her arms wrapping around my neck.
“I don’t understand what’s happening to me, I murmured, pressing my forehead to hers. “I’m not supposed to feel this way. Not…ke this
Olivia’s eyes searched mine. “What way, love?”
“Like something’s slipping through my fingers.” I kissed her, trying to drown out the conflict within me. “You’re perfect. My perfect Luna
The words tasted bitter in my mouth. A lie coated in sweetness.
She smiled against my lips, but I saw the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. My hands moved over her waist, drawing her closer.
Her breath hitched, and I could feel her desire, but the hunger felt was confused… twisted.
Just as I was about to deepen the kiss, a knock broke through the air.
We froze.
“Who is it?” I called, annoyed.
“It’s me. Alpha,” a maid answered softly through the door. “Dinner is served.”
I hold Olivia close for a beat longer, then sighed. “We’ll be down in a moment.”
She stood up slowly, adjusting her clothes and smiling. “After dinner,” she said with a playful wink, “we’ll pick up where we left oft
I nodded, forcing a small smile as she walked out of the room.
Left alone again, I dropped my head into my hands. I stayed like that for a few minutes before finally pushing myself to my feet and heading down to the
dining room,
The long table was already set. Candles flickered, casting golden glows over the polished wood and the fine china laid out.
Oliviasat at the head of the table, her seat to the right of mine.
Maids moved about with trays, placing dishes down grilled meat, vegetables, and fresh–baked bread. Everything smelled amazing, but nothing stirred
my appetite,
Except for one absence.
Raven
I scanned the room again as if she’d appear, maybe serving wine or standing by the wall, her eyes lowered.

But she wasn’t thee.
I sat down beside Olivia, forcing my attention to the food in front of me.
“Eat something,” she said, placing a piece of meat on my plate. “You barely ate lunch”
Iredded again, cutting into the food without enthusiasm. Every bite tasted like ash in my mouth. I heard laughter, Olivia’s, the maids, even my own deep chuckle once or twice, but it all felt forced.
I missed her
The thought hit me hard.
I missed Raven.
Not just her body. I missed her presence, her fire, even her silence, I missed the way she looked me like the saw something beyond the monster tried to be. The way she fought back, cried, trembled, but still held her ground. Olivia was sot, gentle, and predictable, but Raven She was chaos and quiet strength. She made me feel real.
I
abbed my fork into the meat,
After what felt like forever, dinner was over. Olivia stood and extended her hand with a smile, “Shall we?”
I followed her silently up the stairs. She led me to our room, and once inside, she turned to me with a playful expression.
“Strip,” I said suddenly.
She blinked but obeyed, slowly unbuttoning her dress until it pooled at her feet. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her body, her bare legs stepping across the room as she lay down on the bed, facing the sheets.
I climbed on top of her, straddling her hips gently.
My hands moved over her back in slow, methodical strokes. She moaned quietly, a soft sound that made my stomach twist.
Again, it wasn’t her body I saw.
It was Raven’s, is arching under my touch, gasping my name. Raven, whose skin I had memorized in the dark. Raven, whose name I wanted to cry
didn’t.
I shut my eyes, pressing my lips together as i massaged Olivia’s back, guilt rising in waves.
I was bouching one woman while dreaming of another.
My Luna was right beneath me, but I was haunted by the maid
I condemned to suffering.
And yet.
As I continued the massage, I whispered to Olivia, “You’re perfect.”
But deep down I knew it was not true.
