Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 267

Alpha Ethan’s Point of View

Her words struck me suddenly, like a sharp slap across the face. A burning sensation flared in my chest, and my head felt as if it was engulfed in heat.

“How dare you call me a sperm donor?” I growled, my voice low but trembling with the weight of anger lodged deep in my throat. “How was I supposed to know you were pregnant? How could I have known you had children when you never once told me?”

Raven’s eyes ignited, flickering like tiny flames. She stepped closer, closing the small distance until her face hovered just inches from mine.

I could feel her breath—warm, yet unsteady—like she was desperately holding herself together, trying not to crumble.

“Why would I tell you?” she challenged, her voice sharp. “Don’t pretend like you care. I know exactly what you want.”

“You don’t know anything,” I snapped back, though my jaw clenched tightly as I spoke. She had always known too much—my vulnerabilities, my soft spots. That hadn’t changed.

She shook her head slowly, her voice steady but cutting. “You don’t care about me or the kids. All you want is to destroy the life I’ve built with Derick. That’s your goal. And I’m not going to let you.”

There was a firmness in her tone, but her eyes shimmered with unshed tears—a glint that stabbed deeper than any harsh word could.

I opened my mouth, ready to argue, to tell her she was wrong, to fire back with something biting.

But before a single word escaped, a faint sound came from the other side of the room—a quiet scrape, a breath, a subtle shift of weight.

Raven heard it too. We both turned toward the noise.

The door creaked open.

Derick stepped inside. He didn’t storm in or yell. Instead, the anger etched across his face filled the room like a chilling gust of wind.

His jaw was tight, his gaze sharp and piercing. He looked first at Raven, then at me, then back at her again. But the fury in his eyes remained constant.

“What,” he said slowly, “the hell did I just hear?”

His voice was calm, but the edge beneath it was sharp enough to cut through stone.

Raven froze, caught like a bird trapped between two hungry wolves. Her lips parted, but no sound came out.

“Derick… it’s not what you think,” she finally whispered, her voice fragile, trembling like thin glass on the verge of shattering.

“Then explain it,” Derick demanded. “Tell me exactly what I just heard.”

Before she could reply, I stepped forward, almost without thinking.

The truth weighed heavily on my chest, threatening to burst if I stayed silent any longer.

“What you heard is true,” I admitted.

Derick’s eyes locked onto me, his jaw tightening as if to hold back a storm inside him.

I forced the words out. “I am the father of the kids. Raven is my mate. But five years ago, we rejected each other.”

“She left my pack that very night. I tried to find her. I reached out, but she disappeared. Then I come here, and I discover she has my children… and she won’t let me see them.”

Raven drew in a sharp breath. Derick looked at her again, and something in his expression cracked—anger melting into deep, aching hurt.

He stared at her like she was a stranger he wished he never had to meet.

Raven reached out tentatively, her voice soft and pleading. “Derick… please.”

But he recoiled from her touch.

He didn’t yell. He didn’t break anything. He didn’t deny the truth.

Instead, he looked at me like I was an unwelcome shadow, then back at Raven with eyes full of questions she couldn’t answer fast enough.

Finally, his voice cut through the silence—cold, steady, but heavy with pain.

“Fix whatever you need to fix with him,” he told Raven. “But do it quickly.”

Then he turned to me.

“And you,” he said, voice hardening. “Get out of my pack. Now.”

Raven gasped, desperate. “Derick, no, please. Let’s talk.”

He raised a hand—not to strike, but to silence her, as if her words wounded him even more.
