On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 188

The moment the words left her mouth, Jessica’s heart pounded with anxiety. She felt like she was pushing her luck, taking advantage of his pro bono offer.

To her utter surprise, Dennis Thompson agreed without a moment’s hesitation. “Of course. Just give me your friend’s contact information.”

“Okay, I’ll send it to you right away!” Jessica exclaimed, overjoyed. Dennis Thompson was a saint.

When Jessica returned to the hospital room, a smile was still playing on her lips.

George raised an eyebrow. “Find some money? What’s got you so happy?”

Jessica shook her head, a grin spreading across her face as she sat on the edge of the bed. “Do you know Dennis Thompson?”

George’s eyes darted toward her, a hint of suspicion in them. “I’ve met him with Mr. George. He’s average-looking.”

Jessica was taken aback. She hadn’t said anything about his looks.

“Remember how Lance wouldn’t agree to the divorce, and I signed up for that pro bono service at Thompson Law Associates and actually got a spot?” she said, smiling.

George nodded. “I remember.”

“Well, I don’t need it anymore,” Jessica continued. “But Willie cheated, and Lillian wants to divorce him, but she’s afraid she can’t win against the Brown family. Just now, Dennis Thompson called me, and on a whim, I asked if he would take Lillian’s case. He agreed without a second thought.”

George smiled faintly. “Of course he’d agree.”

“Huh?”

“Because Dennis Thompson is a good man,” George said casually.

Jessica was speechless.

George gestured toward the adjoining room. “You should get some sleep, too.”

“Okay,” Jessica said softly. “Since you’ve made your decision, why don’t you come to the hospital and get it confirmed?”

Lillian agreed.

After hanging up, Jessica walked back into the room.

“Who was that? They called several times this morning,” Lance asked, feigning casualness.

“Lance, that’s my private business, and it has nothing to do with you,” Jessica said coldly. “You have no right to ask. Are you staying here with Amy today?”

Lance looked down. “Catherine is coming.”

Jessica nodded. “Fine. Catherine can take the day shift, and I’ll come at night.”

Lance frowned. “Is that bodyguard really so important to you?”
