On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 249

A mocking, adolescent voice drawled from the doorway. At fifteen, Alan Lee was already nearly six feet tall, with a rebellious glint in his eyes.

Melissa scowled.

“What are you talking about?” Jerry chided gently. “The housekeeper is making dinner. Go wash your hands.”

Alan sauntered in, his gaze sweeping over Melissa. “She may be your wife, but she looks more like a prostitute you picked up at some nightclub. Utterly classless.”

Melissa’s eyes widened. She shot up from the sofa, her finger pointing at Alan’s nose, ready to unleash a torrent of insults. But a sharp cough from Jerry made her slowly lower her hand, clenching it into a fist.

“You’re young and you don’t know any better,” she seethed through gritted teeth. “I’m your elder, so I won’t stoop to your level.”

Alan raised an eyebrow. Well, well. The vixen had a change of heart today. Something was definitely up. He swaggered off to the bathroom.

“Did you see the way he looks at me?” Melissa hissed, grabbing Jerry’s arm. “I can ignore him, but I will not be insulted for no reason. I’m telling you, this is the last time!”

“Alright, alright,” Jerry said placatingly. “See? As long as you’re gracious about it, he won’t have anything to say.”

Tears welled in Melissa’s eyes. She gave his chest a light punch. “I’m holding up my end of the bargain. You’d better do what you promised, or you’ll regret it.”

Jessica found out that AuraLive was trying to poach her streamers. She and Rebecca arranged to meet with the streamer in question. The three of them had dinner together, and it was the first time Jessica had met him. He never showed his face during his streams and rarely came into the office. She had expected a warm, middle-aged man, but was surprised to see a handsome, melancholic young man instead.

Jessica spoke softly, as if not to disturb him. “And what do you want to do?”

Timothy lifted his gaze to meet hers. “Ms. Brown, what do you want me to do?”

“We respect your decision,” Jessica replied. “It’s only natural for people to seek out better opportunities.”

He smiled, a clear, bright sound. “Ms. Brown, Ms. Jones, don’t worry. I’m not leaving.”

Jessica and Rebecca exchanged a surprised look.

“I’ve already earned enough to live comfortably for the rest of my life,” Timothy explained, a faint smile on his lips. “The size of the company’s stock doesn’t matter to me. I’ve been with StreamSphere since the beginning. The previous owner’s personal life was a mess, but I always respected that he never made us go out for drinks with clients. You’ve both continued that policy. I feel safe here. I’m not going anywhere.”
